First newbie pipe question...
...And don't tell me to read the FAQ, it ain't HERE!!!! ;)
I have some very small amounts of pipe tobacco, samples and what not (2 bowls or less). What is the best method of storing these, beyond the plastic bags they are in currently? I am hit or miss on when a pipe sounds/ tastes good, and don't want to let these dry out. Would seem a waste to store such a amount in the snap down jars. Thoughts? (Beyond "Just smoke it") |
Re: First newbie pipe question...
Just smoke it....oops...
Maybe put all of the bags into one jar? If you are worried about flavors mingling you could double bag them. |
Re: First newbie pipe question...
Get some of these ziplock "twist and lock" containers.....cheap and effective

Still very newb to pipes, thanks guys. Those Ziplocs should be easy to come by. Will hit the B&M to see about the mini discs.

Re: First newbie pipe question...
Hey Neuromancer...
What do you put on those mini-discs? Regular ol' PG solution? And do you have to keep 'em off of the tobacco at all? |
Re: First newbie pipe question...
I've taken to carrying around a few bowls worth of tobacco in an empty aluminum cigar tubo. Keeps it nice and fresh, fits easily in a pocket, and it's a snap to load a pipe out of it.

Would anyone here be interested in having a comprehensive FAQ? Would anyone here want to actually write a comprehensive FAQ? Would anyone here direct my attention to a good FAQ open for reproduction, besides the one at http://groups.google.com/group/alt.s...d1b87db15204e0? |

Think it's a great idea, Dan. I know at least one of the main contributors to the CS version isn't here (or anywhere, I think). So, it would be a pretty much from the ground up endevor. Not sure of the technicalities of someone who posted FAQ info on another site, reposting it here. Personally I found the pic by pic info to be extremely helpful, but having the knowledge to follow each photo would be my shortcoming. But if you can get this going, juts PM me for any help you need. |

Otherwise... we forgettabowdit or we'll need to see a few bright boys pony up and split the basic outline into individually manageable chunks, topic by topic, and commence to typing a living, breathing public domain FAQ. It could be a masterpiece that would live on to assist in the corruption of generations to come. The groundswell of interest for this public service project is keeping me awake. Almost. :D |
