CigarBid
Will be the end of me. Just put in 5 or so bids super low, thinking "I'll never get all of them" and suddenly I have 50 cigars on their way to me....
Time for a coolidor. Or some bombing runs. |
Re: CigarBid
I just won a couple 15 packs on there too!

Re: CigarBid
I've done that more times than I can count. Either that or I'll toss in a bid on a lot that closes days later and forget about it until I get that winning bid e-mail and go, "Oh....right...that"

There's a reason it's called the devil site

Re: CigarBid
Too many cigars is not the worst problem you can have. I like to sell my extras when I have them or find a stick I don't like as much as I thought I did when I bought the box, but bombing or storing are also options too.

Re: CigarBid
Best advice- don't get caught up in it being an auction- if you outbid someone else and have any back and forth you both loose. Check prices elsewhere and decide what you will pay then put that bid in and walk away. Win? Great! Don't- don't worry you'll have another chance!

Re: CigarBid
I haven't frequented Cbid in a long time. But when I did it never ceased to amaze me how many lots you could see that they were paying more (sometimes a lot) than you could just go to CI and buy them outright.

Re: CigarBid
Most of the time, I find people are bidding way higher than they should.
Then there's times no one is bidding & you can make a steal of a deal. Couple of weeks ago being an example of the latter. I scarfed a box each of Espinosa Maduro Belicoso & Corona Grande, a box of Torano Noventa Santiago, 5-ers of EP Carillo Natural 52, Fallen Angel, J.Fuego Corojo Oscuro Churchill, & Torano Loyal Robusto, plus 2 8-packs of My Father & Friends sampler. Total cost with shipping was $239.95. Considering the Espinosa boxes alone usually go for $145 & $155 each, I'd say I did OK. |

I always have a set maximum bid and stick with it. A lot of boxes get re-posted for a few weeks so if I don't win it the first time I just keep trying. You can also get some pretty good deals on the Free Fall. I just got a fiver of Diamond Crown Julius Caesar Toros for $43. Their normal selling price is $65. The lowest they reached on the Free Fall was $39 but I wasn't quick enough to grab them. |

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ehljdoco?hl=en Open up the item in a new tab and let it run for several minutes and it tells you where the bottom is. |
Re: CigarBid
Guys, no need to ever overbid again! Here's the trick: Go visit Sloppy McNubble ( http://sloppymcnubble.com/cbid/ ) before you bid and drill down to get the bidding history on the item you want. It gives you a 7 point range of "best" to "worst" prices historically, and then ALL of the past auctions to view. Now that you have the statistics behind you, go bid the lowest price and set a maximum price you are willing to pay. Set it, forget it, don't look back! If you lose this one, you are sure to win a future one.
And NEVER, EVER drunk bid! |
