Cigar smokers are the best people I've ever met
 

Went to a herf yesterday in Jackson, MI. A bunch of folks who post on the cigar bid forums get together and have a Christmas herf every year.

I figured I would take 20 or so cigars to hand out.


Mofos were walking into the place with TUBS of cigars and just throwing 5ers at everybody. People were just setting full boxes of cigars on the table for everyone to smoke. The folks who couldn't make it sent a box of Pepins for everyone to enjoy.

Guys would pass their travel humis around for everybody to take a cigar from. The guy I rode with busted out a box of Torano Tributes and just set them on the table.

One guy stood up and started yelling at everybody: "OK, who has never smoked an Opus X and would like to try one? Who has never smoked an Anejo? Who has never tried an Oliva V maduro?" etc etc.... This same guy asked around to see who drove the longest distance and gave that person an Opus X tin.

One guy was bringing his lady, and it was her birthday. Somebody made her a huge cake and another guy took her into the shop's humidor and told her to pick out a birthday gift.

We were discussing cigars and the guy I was sitting next to said, "You wanna bad ass smoke? Follow me, I'll show ya a bad ass smoke." We went to the humidor where he grabbed a handful of Tatuaje RC184s and hands me one. It was a $20 stick! I've never met this dude before.

They had a collection box for the troops and for the folks who couldn't make it to the herf.


I felt truly humbled by the whole experience. I took around 20 cigars to hand out and ended up with almost 60 cigars! And these guys would not take no for an answer. They would just wait until you weren't looking and stick a bunch of cigars in your bag or travel humi! :r

sounds like fun i wish i could find some guys around here where i live at to herf with no one smokes cigars here there are no B&M here i have to herf alone its sucks :sad

As far as I am concerned when you get any number of BOTL together you know you are guaranteed a good time. I have been around too many of them to say this,,,they are just good people who are looking to have a good time and that is why my preference is to hang out with as many as I can. I would have liked to have crashed this party.
