Nat Sherman Cigars
There are a number of Nat Sherman blends. Anybody tried them? Anybody like them? They've got a beautiful shop in midtown Manhattan and have been in business since 1930. Somewhat of a New York City icon. I like that about them.
I've been in the "Nat Townhouse" a few times over the years, but only once did I pickup one of their namesake cigars. I remember enjoying it, but like I said, that was years ago. I couldn't tell ya anything about it. I'm thinking of swinging by there on Sunday. Give 'em a shot. Anybody have experience with their cigars? |
Re: Nat Sherman Cigars
I've had a few. Nice construction but very mild.

I have only had the timeless. I enjoyed it

Had the Epoca for the first time a week ago - Excellent cigar, well constructed - Mild to medium I would say but very tasty and lots of thick smoke... I will be buying more

Re: Nat Sherman Cigars
Host must be sweetened with something. It's agreeable, but it is sweet, creamy and mild

Thanks for the input, fellas. According to their website they've got a few medium-full lines as well. I'll try 'em on Sunday and report my findings here early next week.

Re: Nat Sherman Cigars
So, I tried a handful of the fuller-bodied Nat Sherman cigars:
Epoca, Breva, 42 x 5" Timeless (DR blend), No. 5, 43 x 3.75" Timeless (Nicaragua blend), #452, 52 x 4" 1930 Selection, Corona, 42 x 5.5" These cigars will expel the notion that Nat Sherman only makes mild smokes. Of the cigars I tried, I really enjoyed the Timeless (Nicaragua blend) #542 ($8.00/per on their website with no savings on a box of 21, or $168.00) and the Epoca ($8.95/per for the Breva on their website with no savings on a box of 20, or $179.00). If strength is what you're after, the 1930 Selection is where it's at. If they weren't so spendy I'd buy a box of the Nicaraguan Timeless. But I'm a budget smoker. At those prices, perhaps I'll pick one up to smoke in the shop, but they can't be a part of my regular rotation. Here are pics of all but the Dominican Timeless: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...pskoogprb0.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...ps0eoythzd.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...psdbwoc22j.jpg |

Glad you enjoyed. They are a bit pricey IMO but the Epoca is a great smoke nonetheless. I will pick up a few more of these. I have a couple of the 1930's sitting in my humi for a later date, along w/ a 1 or 2 of the Epoca's for a bit of aging. |
Re: Nat Sherman Cigars
First box I ever bought were of the Timeless #2, I think I even brought a couple for Peter to my first **** herf.

Re: Nat Sherman Cigars
I've seen this cigar on so many forums but have never pulled the trigger even though they make me curious. I guess I'm just a band fanatic who sometimes will buy a cigar based on their cigar band and in this case the Nats just don't do it for me bandwise. I should just buy one and smoke it and end the speculation.
