S.T. Dupont lighter - Genuine, Model & Value?
Hi
My father has just found a 25 year old+ S.T. Dupont lighter that he was given. I just want to know if its genuine for one plus if so its model and value. http://i49.tinypic.com/6riydy.jpg Serial No: 12FHD77 We do have an owners manual and dealer card inside that box. |

Take a clear picture of the bottom and a few at angles with the cap open. To me it looks like a gatsby but I'm not familiar with that design

If it's that old, pretty sure it's real. Probably needs a servicing as the lighters just don't last forever. Seals dry, etc... Worth getting fixed, should be $100 to do so. You can a dual flame if you plan to use for cigars.

It is a beauty and a wonderful keep sake. I would get it serviced like Moses suggested and use it with pride!
Just don't lose it. |

Bottom looks like it could be a Gatsby, or maybe a Ligne D.
Authenticity? Hard to say. |

As for value, I have paid about $50-80 for Duponts in similar condition. If it had a recent service, you could add 110% the cost of the service plus $50-60. Regardless of value, you have a Dupont lighter! There are metal fuel adapters available and Dupont flints are not expensive.
