The Humi has Landed

3 Attachment(s)
Whats up boys? Been a while since I have been on, was out of town and returned to find my new Humidor had been delivered in my absence (replacing the leaking humi). Thought I would post a couple of pics of the new humi and its future residents. Went on a buying spree lately on the cigar monster app and got some CAO Lx2's, Mx2's and Cx2's, Acid Kuba Kuba and of course my favorite, My Uzi Weighs a Ton.
Humi is seasoning and should be stable by tomorrow. Since this is my first humi, I was wondering how you guys store your smokes, cello on or off?

I personally like cello off, but you also find that some people keep them on to protect the cigars from damage. It's all personal preference.

That's a nice looking humi you got there! I have the same one, just a different design on the outside. It's been very reliable. I have found however, that if you just use the rectangular humidifier on the lid, it can have trouble permeating though to the second layer. I also keep a Boveda packet or two underneath to ensure the humidity stays the same in the entire humidor. Just make sure it's not in direct contact with your sticks!

I would also STRONGLY advise keeping the Kuba Kubas and other infused cigars OUT of the humidor. It will definitely affect the flavor of the others. An airtight tuperwear will work wonders. That flavor can linger for long, long time even after you've smoked the infused cigars.

Nice. Keep the kuba kubas away from the other sticks, tho.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kuba Kuba.
I stuck the humidifier on the bottom and also put a jar of gel down there. I am planning on getting the cigar oasis xl at some point.

How funny, we both got the CAO 6pack and the MUWAT 5er. Nice picking ;-)

Thinking I might jump on that MUWAT deal also next time I see it on CigarMonster. Had one the other day and loved it.

I do like the look of it. I really like that whole reclaimed wood look. I'll keep you guys posted about how it works out for me. I am looking forward to actually getting to fill it up.

I agree. Saw a similar one on display at Spec's Liquor in TX and have wanted one since. I believe it had some curvature on the lid to resemble a treasure chest. Unfortunately, I don't really have somewhere in the house to display it that maintains optimal temperature.

Typically, If I plan on it being a stick I will smoke in the next 6 months to a year I take the cello off... If I plan on aging it longer then a year or if I plan on sending it to someone else I leave the cello on... but as Robr1205 said... its mostly preference...

definitely heed the advice... don't intermingle the Infused sticks with the un-infused...

Re: The Humi has Landed

I also leave my cello on, but I don't have a Spanish Cedar box to justify taking the cello off. Meh.

Re: The Humi has Landed

When I have cigars with cellos, they stay on. The cigars I buy the most of don't come with cellos, so that's easy to figure. Plus they live in the box they come in.
