Humidor Seasnig Question
I've read the Seasoning thread, but I'm sort of at a loss.
I've been seasoning my Humidor for the past 8 days like described in How to thread. My RH has been holding steady between 85-90% for the past 8 days. When do I know it is time to place cigars in the humidor? Should I wait another 6 days:sh Thanks |
Re: Humidor Seasoning Question
I would think it's time! Toss them in.

Re: Humidor Seasnig Question
Yeah. Throw them in and check the humidity in a couple days to see if it's stablized. It'll most likely drop immediately after adding the cigars, but give it time.

Re: Humidor Seasnig Question
85-90 seems high, if you haven't ,salt test your hygro, check it daily to be sure it doesn't stay above 70-72 rh. after a day or so from the time you put in our sticks. Size of humidor and amount of sticks (Rh they've been at) will be a large factor.

Re: Humidor Seasnig Question
I've calibrated my Hygro's with a Boveda pack, both held at 75%. I took the dishes of water out tonight. I have only my beads in there now. I put the 24 sticks I have in my 150 humidor.
Right now both Hygros say 70 Degrees and 81%. I assume the RH will drop now that the water dishes are gone and there are cigars in the Humi |
Re: Humidor Seasnig Question
Mine took a few days to drop from 80% to 65% after I put my cigars in.
