Cigar Asylum Cigar Forum - Jaime Garcia reserva especial EL 2011

The Jaime Garcia reserva especial limited edition 2011 is a 6½x52 toro with a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper from the viso priming. The binder is pelo de oro and the filler contains two different kinds of Cuban seed tobacco. They come in boxes of 16, of which one has an Ecuadorian sungrown wrapper instead of the Connecticut broadleaf. There are only 3700 numbered boxes made. The cigar has a € 15 price tag in The Netherlands.

The cigar has a beautiful double band and a deep dark oily wrapper. The construction feels good and I smell a mild barnyard. I see a few veins. The predraw is fine and I taste herbs and pepper.

I taste pepper and herbs, the cigar is spicy and makes my lips tingle. After half an inch I taste herbs, some pepper and a little bit of chocolate that fades away quickly. After a third I taste a lot of wood with some herbs, spices and a tiny bit of chocolate.

Halfway I taste wood, herbs and something best described as a burned toast flavor. After two thirds I taste herbs with a bite and a fresh aftertaste.

This cigar lasted me for two hours. The draw is great but the smoke is a bit thin in the beginning, it gets better along the way. The burn is straight. The silver gray ash is firm. This cigar is full flavored and full bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? On a special occasion
