CAO Brazillia question
 

Let's get the dumb questions out of the way. I've had the Brazillia in Amazon before and loved it. I was looking at some and keep finding "Chango Tubo". Is this the same cigar,just another vitola? Is it in a tube? Told ya it was a dumb question.

No, sir!

The Chango is 6 x 50, if it is a "Chango Tubo" I can only assume that it will be in a tube.

The Amazon is 6 x 60, making it considerably thicker.

One being 6 x 50, and the other 6 x 60 would make the answer to the questions "Are they the same cigar?" - "No."

AHA! Unless you mean the same same cigar, but different sizes. Which I would no refer to them both as the same, but I can see your angle now.

The way I read the original post lead me to believe that he cannot find the Amazon, but keeps finding the Chango, and was wondering if they replaced the Amazon with the Chango...

Look up the word vitola. After you do, the OPs question might make more sense to you. Then again, maybe not.

From what I am gathering here they are the same blend just different vitola. What about the tube?

And Mike, your answer is yes. Brazilia is a nice smoke. Try to stay away from the Italia if they still make it. You'd think they'd be much alike, but it ain't so. The Italia is brutally awful.

I've seen this selling on various sites with and without tubes Is the tube just for protection?

Protection, presentation & if the cigar is left sealed inside for a significant length of time (years) it has the potential to age diffenerently than the same cigar would if aged in a box, which in turn could be different than loose in a humidor.

The Brazillia is one of my favorite cigars. Wish Cbid would list them more often.

The Amazon and the Chango are the same blend. Obviously the Amazon, being the larger RG will have more Filler to Wrapper/Binder Ratio which may lend a slightly different smoking experience.

The Chango originally was sold as a pack of 5 cigars in Tubos. However, I believe some stores/websites now sell them as singles.

The tubos are just a different way of packaging the cigar. It offers a slightly different experience as well since the inside of the tubo is lined with cedar.

Tubos are really nice for bringing a cigar somewhere to smoke without having to bring a travel humi, but if you're storing stuff in a humi at home and smoking at home the extra protection isn't that important. It's important to note that the cedar in a tubo, just like cedar sleeves on other cigars, has the potential to grow mold depending on what environment it was stored in before it got to you. I'm paranoid about that stuff now since I've had moldy Anejos and Liberties (the 09 I think had tissue paper around the cigar in the coffin, all three I got were completely moldy).
