People actually try to catch fish when they"ice fish"? I thought it was principally an excuse to drink a metric crap ton of beer. Why do you need a nice pole? You don't really want to catch something do you? It would interrupt the drinking! :D

When you spend the money to have someone put you in a heated house that's sitting right on top of a bunch of fish, it pays to have good gear. If I go ice fishing most other times I might as well use a 2x4 and some nylon rope. And it's not just an excuse to drink a metric crap ton of booze, it's also a perfectly good excuse to smoke a bunch of stogies. :r:r
