HERF Idea
 

I was thinking about how wonderful HERF's are and the genorisity that is show by all to all at these events.

In the same generosity vain I would like to make a suggestion for your next HERF.

Take an empty box and put a simple sign on it "Stuff for Our Troops". In this box a person could throw a sick or two maybe some lose change, a five dollar bill or just jot down a quick thank you note.

At the end of the HERF the box gets taped up and sent off to macms (Fred). Fred then deposits the money into the Troop Fund and ships your HERF box to the people in harms way with a note explaining to the receiving troops who was the donating HERF.

Think of it as an extension of your hand across the world to include brothers and sisters of the leaf in your HERF. Including them in your fun, your smiles and your brotherhood at a time when they could not be there in person.

A simple and easy way to make a difference for those who might not other wise have the time to send something off on their own.

Like my dad always said, "just do what you think is best".

The BABOTL are already practicing this and it makes it easier on postage if we bring it to the Herf rather than mailing individual packages!

good idea. It also allows someone who normally wouldnt have a larger donation to throw a couple sticks in the box and do their part (since its kinda pointless to ship 2 sticks)

:tpd::tu Last week at the Beer Tasting herf in San Jose. Mean Darrell dropped about 100 smokes on me, they have already been forwarded to some needy troops on the front lines.
