House Blends

I'm interested in trying some new things and maybe uncovering some hidden gems. Are there any house blends that are worth seeking out?

Famous Signature Rocky Patel, Vudu and Patel Brothers Next Generation are all solid smokes.

I agree those are good smokes, but I don't know that I'd consider them house blends since you can get those at a few places. I'm thinking more along the lines of a blend made for a specific shop, but not like the SODO or Anarchy. Something like a shop signature smoke or custom roll.

The store I work at makes a excellent house blend, the roller has been doing his thing for about 28 years and has worked for alot of different companys, but i would love to try a few other house blends as well.

Famous Private Selection Garcia blend are really nice. Had one earlier today. Also, probably my favorite right now is the Tat Verocu No. 9 exclusive from Holts. Smoking that right now! Coincidence?! I think not! -(P

Cuban Cigar Factory in San Diego. They do mail orders over the phone. Rolled in house and several tasty sticks to choose from. I really enjoyed them. :2

Holts "Old Henry", "Little Havana Overruns" and "Holt's Connoisseur Selection" are some that come to mind. Not bad if you are a fan of Don Pepin Garcia made or blended cigars. :ss

Casa Fuente all the way! Of course, you can only get them at the Casa Fuente shop in Vegas, and they do not ship, so it does make it difficult. I can't wait for my trip in June to pick-up some more Lanceros!

Famous Nic 3000's are pretty good with about a year of age on them. Construction is also excellent for the under $3/stick price point also.

If you don't mind paying top dollar, these are fantastic. I especially love the corona gorda. little pricey though at around $17 ea. worth it in my opinion, but I'm also a Fuente nut. :noon

I've had some of them and while not always the most dynamic or complex, I wouldn't call them bad cigars.

For 18 bucks, you can get a sampler of 8 cigars, just go for it and see for yourself, you might just find a cigar that you like.

Hey Jeff,

One of my local B&M' makes a number of rolled cigars on premise in Stevenson Ranch and their Thousand Oaks, CA store. The one that I've enjoyed has been their Connecticut Robusto (5x52).
Smooth, creamy, a little nutty, and generous amounts of smoke:tu

The Smoke Zone
25886 The Old Road
Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381
661-284-1298

You can speak to Leon or Zak who could help you out. This particular cigar goes for $5.99 + 9.75% CA Sales Tax.

I'd definitely recommend the Habana Leon and Hirsh Y Garcia from Cigar King/Phatash in AZ. These are House Blends made for these two B&M's by Pepin. I'd consider both of these among the Don's best.

He made something like five others for them as well and you can still get four of these, but once those are gone - that'll be it for them. The HL and H y G are the two blends that survived and I believe are Miami-made.

For everyday smokes I like the RP Velvet from Holt's & the Alec Bradley Sun Grown from Famous.

Corona Cigar Co. in Orlando FL has some very good house blends. They have a Dominican Salomon that is very good. They also have a few of theirs that are by Tabacalera Tropical.

Thanks for the info. My B&M doesn't carry any custom rolls or house blends and I was just looking to branch out a little bit.
