Agreed, this is becoming all too common of an occurrence. If you're one of the boys (or girls!) in blue, thank you for what you do, keep your head down, and stay safe. RIP Jack Maguire, Woburn, MA PD.

I am a bit worried now, beyond just the scope of this tragedy. I have a female friend who is a homicide detective in Miami, and am afraid to hear the names released.

Prayers to everyone affected.

I sincerely hope your friend is well. My guess is that if the police were serving a warrant, the deceased were likely part of the criminal apprehension team.

It doesn't even sound right to say "I hope so", it is such a tragedy regardless, Jesse. I do know that she and her partner have served homicide warrants on suspects they thought were not a major threat to police in the past, but I am praying for everyone.

Of course Tom, it's a tragedy no matter how you slice it.

Tom,
They just released the female officer's name.
Hope it is not your friend.

Amanda Hayworth

The killer had a 5 page rap sheet.

The officers were with Miami-Dade county and not the City of Miami. Don't know which dept. Your friend works for Tom.
