Christmas Lights Time!

Lets see your Christmas lights!
On your house or on your tree
Let's see them!

I have been working slowly on my outdoor Christmas lights for about a week now. I have about 3000 up and probably another 1000 more to go! I haven't tripped a breaker yet , but it make soon come.

Took a few pics but they show up blurry on the camera. May need to take some pics from father away. This is one of the clearer ones.

Switched to video mode on the camera and took this short video of them. You can see the lights "in action"

Got a few more strands to hang and will try to get some more pics.

Lets see your pics/vids of your lights!

Nice job....

We were dumped on so hard, I will not be getting on the roof to string lights this year. Just too much trouble for a few weeks of lights.... What a scrooge I am....

I haven't even started yet - which would explain why I never ever finish getting all of my lights up. Harder to explain is why I normally win the "Best Overall" display for our little community each year - :r

When I had the circuit box installed and half the house re-wired - I had 8 30amp outlets installed just for Christmas lights - :D

Thats going to happen when I build my mancave and run the electrical. I am going to have probably 6-30amp cicuits.
All my lights are ran off one outlet.... Alot of them are LED lights, so they don't take alot of power to run.

This is my kind of thread. :)
I'll try to take a pic tonight.

These are from last year and I noticed too late that part wasn't working.

I need to get my video camera back so I can record this years show. It's almost identical, though.

Put a few up at my GF's house:

She wants more, so we're headed to the store this week to get more boxes. At least it'll be warm in the house where she can safely watch me hang more lights :sl

Shawn: I think you have your camera on "manual focus." I think you need to switch it to "auto focus."

Thanks!
I'll have to try that. Its off a Nikon Digital L18 camera, never really fooled with the video part of it. Will try and see if i can change it.

Re: Christmas Lights Time!

Hey Shawn,

I had that problem also. My unit has a feature where You Focus the camera first, then hit the record button. Made all the difference for me. Also, on mine once you start it won't allow zooming or changes. So, I try a couple of versions on static shots. ( panning on fixed objects )
I hate owners manuals, but sometimes that's the best way to get it right.

I kinda like Yours out of focus though. :tu

Cheers!:chr
