Remove cigar after taste?
So I have tried a couple of searches on this topic to no avail. I like the after taste of a good cigar for about an hour after smoking it but after that I would like it gone. Unfortunately I typically smoke at night and the taste lasts all night and until breakfast the next day. I have tried drinking lemon juice, listerine, gum, brushing my whole mouth(toung and roof included) they each work only a little and have not solved the problem. Any suggestions? I would love to be able to remove a bad cigars taste right away.

Whiskey, especially bourbon. I don't mind the cigar aftertaste, I find that half the cigars don't even have an aftertaste. They sell special mints for removing the taste at most cigar shops, I'd try those out.

Remove cigar after taste?
Not all cigars I smoke leave a "bad" after taste in my mouth. Sometimes it is a chemical reaction and the taste is the result of that chemical reaction. Assuming that you find the taste objectionable, I would suggest trying switching to other beverages or foods that you consume with or immediately following your cigars. My bigger objection is not the taste but the odor that is left following cigar smoking the following morning. This is not my complaint but that of my wife. It makes it difficult keeping good relations with my better half. :D Hope that helps in your quest for a better cigar experience. Quote:

Two words: Smart Mouth

Re: Remove cigar after taste?
Brushing your teeth well followed by a rinse with a good mouthwash (e.g., Listerine or the like) will go a long way here...

Re: Remove cigar after taste?
Acidic drinks like orange juice tend to work well. I know the cigar mouth you're talking about. Sometimes I'll smoke 3-5 cigars in an evening out and the next morning I can brush my teeth twice and still taste it.
OJ and similar work well. |
Re: Remove cigar after taste?

Re: Remove cigar after taste?
I'll third the nomination for Smart Mouth. They have a new cinnamon flavor too!

It would be awesome if Smart Mouth came in cigar flavor.

Re: Remove cigar after taste?
just my two cents from a younger dumber less heart friendly perspective, but original monster energy works well in removing the after taste and in my experience the taste pairs well with many maduros. However anyone perhaps with a cardiologist or naggy wife may want to seek better options

Pickled ginger and Perrier or other sparkling water. Its also what I use lots of times when I smoke multiple times a day. Drink one of those in between cigars and for me at least it works. I also sometimes use Altoids.
