A nice touch by Hoya de Monterrey

It's been rather nice in the late afternoons this week in central Alabama. So much so that I've been able to smoke several cigars an afternoon while catching up on my Sci-Fi reading. I have half a dozen HdM Excaliber's (got to be double corona size) that my son left here two months ago (was used for his best friend's wedding). Since this was a nice, long cigar, I figured it would be a nice time consumer. And, and a first cigar of the day, I wanted a mild to medium smoke. This fit the bill nicely. The cigar was everything I hoped it would be! I smoked it down to a nub (as close as I could without a clip or other holding device with me). I took the photo below, and texted it to my son to show him how much I had enjoyed one of the cigars he had left for me.

Ten minutes later, my cell phone rang, with a number I did not recognize. I answered it, and the caller identified himself as Rick Chandler, the General Cigar man in charge of the Excalibur line. He had received a copy of my "nub" photo, and simply wanted to thank me for smoking their line of cigar, and for having enjoyed it enough to communicate that enjoyment to another cigar smoker!!! I wasn't speechless, but was close. His thanks was genuine, and was well appreciated! Performance above and beyond the call of duty, IMO!

Awesome! I've had something similar happen to me, Cliff. Gave me that much more respect for the people that run, and work in, this industry.

That's pretty good customer relations right there.

I might have a few Hoyas around here somewhere. Weather should break a little in a week or three and I can get back into the swing of things and knock one or two out.

Thats Badass Cliff. I'd like to think if I were ever in that position I'd do the same thing. Too many people forget where they come from or get lost in Business. I notice that is less and less the case in the Cigar Industry.
