Newhall Pass Brush Fire, Valencia, CA

Returning home this afternoon, I noticed this brush fire on the west side of the s/b 5 fwy Newhall Pass:

Approximately 400 - 500' north of the overpass, CHP had s/b traffic stopped for miles:

So, be careful out there folks. Its fire season out here in SoCal...

Of interest, the third photo I shot it felt like a BBQ inside the car with all the smoke, and you could actually feel the heat coming across the freeway from the fire zone...

You guys burn all the time out there!

It use to be about once a month you'd notice a new black spot on the way up to Gorman

:DThat's true Andrew. I was just happy to be traveling n/b on the 5 fwy with about 4 miles to go...

Stay safe, Mark.

No matter how valuable or sentimental, possessions are replaceable. Life is not.

Positive wishes sent. We lived through a Summer of brushfires a few years ago in Central Florida and it was hell.

Hoping the property loss is minimal, and civilian casualties non-existent.
