I just saw this today. Sad sad news. I first heard about "Buttercream Jesus" on Bob & Tom in the morning. Apparently it is also known as "Touchdown Jesus" as well.

I work like 5 minutes from the statue. The pastor said he would rebuild Touchdown Jesus.

They were planning a complete overhaul on him this summer anyway...maybe this time they won't build him of wood, styrofoam and flammable materials!

I got a feeling it will be slightly more than 3 days before he is raised up :(

I'll be driving by what remains of the statue this week. Looks like even God doesn't like supersized Jesus statues. :hm

There is only one true "Touchdown Jesus", residing in South Bend, Indiana. And no, I am not a Notre Dame fan. ;)
