Ever eat & smoke a cigar at the same time?

Sounds weird huh? Well my timing was a little off yesterday. As soon as I got home with my new box of Illusione 88's I had to have one. I started marinating my london broil in a little soy, worcester & montreal steak seasoning, preheated the grill and well, when it was done (med-rare) I still had the last 3rd of my stogie left. I didn't want to put it down at the best part & I didn't want to eat a cold steak. I have to say, much to my surprise, they both paired up quite nicely with the Magic Hat Lucky Kat I was drinking. Go figure.

Yeah, this usually happens at HERFs and Cigar dinners.

I personally dont like to be the only one smoking while eating, and will let my cigar die during the meal out of respect for others at the table.

I do it all the time at herfs, and BBQs where the host and others are smoking at particulcar section or table. I don't think I have had many meals without a cigar at the Shack Herfs.

Yes.
But from the title I first thought maybe you were doing something not many people do. Eat the cigar and smoke it at the same time.
Never done that one :r :r

I agree, unless it's the annual Hamilton Ontario Pig Roast Herf. Two hands are usually required since there is 80 lbs of slow roasted pork to dig into. That and pork fat doesn't enhance the flavor of most cigars. LOL

I had pork with cigars at several herfs, Mike (MegaMoBIII, Shack V), and it treated me just fine. :)

Yes, snacks like wings, nachos but never a full meal.

I rarely get a chance to; only when the wife is out of town. Last time it was a big bacon and egg breakfast with coffee and a Sancho Panza double maduro. I was surprised at how nice it was to pair good food and drink with a good cigar. :tu

I do it when the option is there. If I am the only one smoking and eating I too will just let it die unless it is a super duper Icehog3 worthy fantastic cigar.

I have never eaten and smoked at the same time. Something just doesn't find that appetizing.

BTW, nice grab on the Illusione 88s!

Well for someone named icehog that doesn't suprise me. :D

This thread reminded me of the annual pig herf. Here's some pics from the official thread...

maybe I have a weird pallet, however whenever I eat while smoking, it makes the cigar taste "off" if not bad in some cases. I have the same issue when drinking beer or wine with food

LIke others have said...I've had snacks like cooked pretzels and things of that sort. Ate a pizza while smoking once. Kinda worried about eating my ash, though

Re: Ever eat & smoke a cigar at the same time?

I prefer finger food or desserts with cigars, but have had all sorts of meals with cigars. Ideally, I like to wait until after dinner to "retire" with a cigar, but at casual events, it does not always work out that way.
