Same here, but he's Puerto Rican and latinos are quite prejudiced to their native land. Call a Cuban a Puerto Rican or vice versa and tempers will flare.

Then call cuban a beaner or a wetback and see how that goes for you. I have a whole meat plant full of cubans here and they all refer to each other as Puerto Ricans or Domicans.

My girlfriend teaches at a 90%+ hispanic high (mostly DR) school in Lawrence, MA. There was a discussion with students on swine flu and students said they were not worried as they don't know any Mexicans...

Man, that is just terrible.

However, you guys are totally correct.
Lots of infighting amongst Hispanics and best way to offend one is to tell them they are from certain countries. Works better to incite them than cussing their mother out.

In any event, I am just glad I too came out of the closet.:r
