Cigars & Golfing

Well, I am going out golfing this weekend, sadly flying solo, as my buddy that I usually go with is very busy. Any ways, do you guys take a stogie on the course? What do you do with it when teeing off and shooting? Any thing else I need to know?

Around of golf with out a stogie is a sad round indeed.

I always bring at least two. I have a cigar clip that I clip onto the cart or I will just set it on the cart.

here's a thread for one of BOTLs that sells some clips.

I have never golfed alone, or with a stogie, so this is going to be a double whammy for me.

This is a good question man. I would probably smoke something small. I tried golfing with a big ol' smoke once, didn't turn out too well. The whole hold in your mouth and make a good shot just doesn't work out. That has been my experience. If push comes to shove you can always rest it on the cart somewhere. It is not ideal but ya gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, enjoy your smoke and your day on the links!

I was thinking about devouring the Diesel as it is just about ready to smoke.

I use a holder called the cigar minder. It is great!

That does look like something I will pick up, but I doubt I can get it here by saturday at 8 am.

I would never take A stogie on the course with me !
I usually take at least 15.

And look into a cigar clip for the cart/bag.:tu

There are a ton of places to get them, this was just at the top of a Google search.

The clip is going to definitely be a must have. Especially for the coming summer.

Damn, you're not too far from me.
A golf outing on 64 between here and there may be in order when it does warm up!

If you're taking a cart, the clip on the windshield makes a great field-expedient cigar rest.

I used to say screw the scorecard and use the steering wheel clip too!

Who cares about strokes, greens hit and fairways anyway when you're enjoying a good stick?

Does a bear **** in the woods?:D

Re: Cigars & Golfing

I will take that as a rhetorical question, and just for the record, the Charmin Bears on TV **** in a field with one or two trees, not the woods.

Cigar holder for sure and I smoke Churchills as it's a long walk between shots sometimes. I take the gar out and put it in the holder, hit it and do it all over again. I won't golf without a cigar or beer for that matter.

I have a clip that I use and I usally have a Gran Habano Corojo #5 -- nice stick that will usually last me 9 holes. It also has a nice thick wrapper that can take some (little) abuse from taking it in and out of my clop.

Re: Cigars & Golfing

Beer is still a bit of a far off legal drink for this youngin. What is a good stick(s) that will last me 18 holes? I am taking my diesel for sure any other recommendations?
