No, this is absolutely wrong. It goes as follows.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day smoking cigars, and spend all night with his buddy's drinking beer and smoking cigars stretching out the one that got away.

There, now I feel better.
