For my friensd in IT
Looking over the log book kept by the computer support staff at my office, I noticed several entries stating the problem was PICNIC.
I asked one of the technicians what PICNIC meant. He laughed as he told me it meant "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer." |
Re: For my friensd in IT

Re: For my friensd in IT
I am not an IT person, but. Had a guy at work yesterday ask me what was wrong with the computer. I took a look when he moved the mouse, then the monitor said "no signal" Looked over and pushed the power button on the tower and wala-- it came on.

Re: For my friensd in IT
This one has many names. The one I know it as is called CKI - chair/keyboard interface.

Re: For my friensd in IT
I say PICNIC or PEBKAC a lot...
"thanks! what was wrong with the printer?" "PEBKAC" as I walk away to a puzzled look. |
Re: For my friensd in IT
Yeah, the PICNIC is what I usually refer to as "walking denial of service"

Re: For my friensd in IT
At my last company, where I was the closest thing to an IT guru (very scary indeed!), I would tell our AA evertime she called me with a problem that the problem stemmed from a loose nut behind the keyboard. She looked for a nut to tighten for weeks.
I know, I'm going to pay for all of these things I did one day :ss ;s . |
