Conterfeit?
 

Im station here in Iraq and so far some folks have told me theres nothing but counterfeit cubans here. I went to one of the cigar shop today at the base and purchased a Monte Cristo petit tubos. I ask the gentleman about the counterfeit issue of Cuban in Iraq and he handed me a brand new box of Cohiba Sublime and told me to open it. Inside was 3 piece of paper of authenticity ( wish I took pics of that)...The were also marking in the bottom of the box if I remember it says Cuba Habana S.A.
So i ended up purchasing a stick for about 6 dollars ( monte cristo) I been researching for a few minutes and everything seems to check out, or this could be a hella of a counterfeit. Please drop in and tell me what you think about this.

Hard to tell by the picture, but the brown bordering around the white marking on the band looks way to wide for that to be an authentic Montecristo.

the color of the band looks a little ight to me. The white on the band also looks a little thick....

^^^ Two things that could be caused by the camera.

I do not know if it is fake.

The ones I ran into when I was in Kirkuk at FOB Warrior were all fakes. If you can get up to Dahuk in Kurdistan they have a great cigar shop that has the real deal. Or so I've been told. :r

Its crazy how its almost so similar even from the band and especially the box it came from. I need to go back and take pictures of the box and post it here
