New Smokin' Buddy
 

Brought home a new herf buddy a week ago. Meet Jayda.

Jayda's a 14-month old Golden from VA. Friends of my sister were having a tough giving her the attention she needs because they have a couple of toddlers in the house, so after a lot of discussion and emails, I picked her up last weekend while my son and I were visiting the Naval Academy in Annapolis.

I give tremendous credit to her previous owners for raising such an even tempered, well mannered dog. My experience with retrievers is they can be quite a handful, but Jayda's so calm. Other than a little rambunctiousness first thing in the morning, she's very good. Grace & I know a tired dog is a good dog, so we make sure she gets a couple long walks each day and lots of playtime as well. (The walks have the side benefit of getting me some much needed exercise too.)

So while I've been talking Jayda up in MassHole Banter, I thought I'd also post a formal introduction for all of CA. She'll be a regular at my BBQ herfs from now on ... :)

Great thing to do Vin! As you know, I have a well documented love of Herfing with Hope the Wonder Dog (also a Golden) and one of the other four dogs we have.
