Ashton VSG Torpedo I purchased some nice VSGs from our very own Mastershogun (Great trade, thanks for the expediency) this past weekend, and I am excited to say that I smoked the VSG Torpedo for the first time tonite. All in all, an AMAZING smoke. I really love the construction of every VSG I have ever smoked. This was no exception, the burn was RAZOR sharp, and I got more than 2/3 through it before any ash fell, and this is a big smoke! The volume of the smoke was extremely generous. The flavor was classic VSG, earthy, deep, aromatic. I know that the VSG gets a lot of hype, but I dare-say that it is worth every ounce of it. I love Opus X, I love Anejo, I love Master Blends, but buck for buck, the VSGs might top all in my book. I smoked this one with a tall (very tall) Mount Gay and Diet, which is my go to alcoholic cigar pair. Wow is all I have to say about this beautifully constructed masterpiece. |

Re: Ashton VSG Torpedo Just smoked one of these I had around for about 4-5 years. Wonderful, rich, meaty flavors through the first half. The burn started to go decidedly south after halfway, not only canoeing but channeling. It was a bear to correct, and in the process the flavors turned a bit charry. The finish was on the sweet side, with clouds of thick smoke and a touch of that charriness until about the 3/4 mark when I finally let it go out. Not a bad smoke at all, but the burn challenge was a little stressful while driving...not what I'm looking for in the smoking experience. |

Re: Ashton VSG Torpedo I bought a VSG Sorc from my B&M and I was surprised to see nearly every VSG box mostly full. Saving it for my Birthday which is a few months off. |
