good article!

I think it's important for new enthusiasts to keep in mind that it can takes weeks to months for cigars to fully adjust to proper humidity. I'm still guilty of getting anxious when I have something I really want to smoke, but torching too soon can significantly diminish the taste and burn of a good cigar.

for a fun experiment, try taking a 5'er at like, 75-80% humidity and placing them in a 60% humi. Then smoke one after a week, another after two weeks, etc. and see how they change.

I have become a firm believer that cigars store/age best at 65-70% humidity but they actually smoke better at a little lower RH. I've just gotten in the habit of picking out everything I plan to smoke for the weekend around mid-week and setting them out to dry.

I hardly ever have burn or draw problems (even on CCs) and the dry cigars just seem to have more flavor. Also, the flavors seem to get more complex this way.

65% max humidity for me. 60-65% is a good safe range, while still having some spring and humidity in the cigar.
