Pinar Del Rio Classico Exclusivo
This cigar was gifted to me by Pinar Del Rio Owner & Blender, Abraham Flores (rahbass)!!!
I do not presume to know very much about this cigar such as blends. I can only assume it is blended like the Oscuro and Sun Grown versions with both Dominican and Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos. Country: Dominican Republic Length/Ring: 6 x 50 Shape: Toro Wrapper: Natural Strength: Mild I am happy Abe sent me a fiver of these to enjoy and review! The construction of this cigar is very nice, well-crafted, with a smooth Connecticut wrapper and an easy pre draw. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/2755/pinarclass01.jpg Upon toasting I got a nice strong hay like flavor. The flavor quickly changed to toasted bread. The white smoke pours out of the cigar. The draw is so easy the cigar almost smokes itself. http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/333/pinarclass02.jpg About a third of the way in I noticed a hint of almond and cinnamon. The hay flavor has not returned. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/6...narclass06.jpg I cannot believe the amount of smoke this cigar gives off. I smoked this indoors one evening and had to open a door to let the aromatic white smoke clear the garage. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5940/pinarclass04.jpg The toasted bread flavor is more predominate now with hints of a cinnamon like spice (not overwhelming at all). This is a very mild cigar. I normally will smoke a mild cigar with a cup of coffee in the morning and reserve the medium to strong for the evening. The next Classico I smoke will be in the morning with a cup of coffee!!! Perfect!!! http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/500/pinarclass05.jpg Total smoke time took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Construction/Appearance: 8 out of 10 Flavor Balance: 6.5 out of 10 Strength: Mild Over all experience: 7 out of 10 Value: This was gifted but I would expect to pay around $6.00 per stick Would I smoke it again? Yes!!! Thanks Abe for allowing me to try this difficult to come by cigar!!! Keep up the good work!!! |

Re: Pinar Del Rio Classico Exclusivo
I scored a couple of boxes of 2007 stock a few weeks back from Cigar.com's daily deal for $2 a stick, if for nothing else but a cheap golf stick.
Fired the first one up today. I am a happy man. :D |
Re: Pinar Del Rio Classico Exclusivo
CI is closing out the Oscuro and Habano Sun Grown.
$39.95 for a box of 25. Get 'em while they last. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/catDisp.asp?cat=204 |

Probably 2007 or 2008 stock, but I'm just guessing as that's what my Classicos were. $39.95 is on the coronas only, by the way. Other sizes a little pricier, but still reasonable. |
