The day has come to make up my mind on an iPhone
 

Well,
Have given it lots of thought.
Considered the pros and cons.
My Verizon contract is up today, at midnight.
That leaves me free to jump ship.

I really like Verizon but I really like that iPhone more.
I was laughing silly last night at the Eagles concert when a co-worker of mine pulled out her iPhone and next thing I see, she has a Zippo lighter, she then acts like she is flicking it open, she then acts like she is lighting it, a flame comes on, and she can actually blow at it and it moves.

Now that may be stupid stuff but man, my current phone barely keeps time.:r

Trust me, after blowing up two mac books, I am afraid of what I might do to that phone.
Time will tell.
I think I want it more not only because of all the neat stuff it does but the neatest of all, how it will hum with my mac book.

I just realized.
Today is the day to make up my mind but can't get the darn thing until tomorrow as I want to carry over my number.
Bummer.

i went from Sprint to ATT for the iPhone and i ported my number on the last day of my contract. check online to see if you have satisfied your contract...oh btw my iPhone has saved me so much time but checking email and then there are the apps...I just jailbroke mine last week but haven't figured Cydia or Installer out quite yet...

T-Mobile is not as big in my area.
Blackout areas are common from what folks have told me.
My son had them and gave it up for that reason.

Android isn't there yet. I've played quite a bit with the G1, and while I think the platform will compete with Apple's mobile OS in the future, it ain't there just yet. If anything Palm's new Pre looks to be the biggest competitor to Apple, can't wait to play around with one!

You'll love the iPhone Carlos. The apps make the phone, it's the handiest gadget i've bought in years.

Sometimes small is great but it looks a bit too small.

As long as the keyboard is bigger than the Centro, I'll be ok. The screen is actually bigger than the current Treos.

I just went onto my Verizon account to make my wife's the primary account number so I can start the process for deleting mine.
She is going to keep Verizon as she always talks to my daughter on it and she has Verizon also, so it doesn't cost either anything.

The funny thing is that for months, they kept telling me how my contract would be up today and offering me discounts on new phones with a new two year agreement.
As of today, there are no messages to remind me any longer.
I think they may be on to something.:r

I'll face the same decision this summer. My Verizon contract will be up and then I'll have to decide if I want to jump ship for the iPhone. There are several things holding me back. First, I have very little service problems with Verizon. I had AT&T several years ago and the service was bad, but that was before they merged with Cingular. Second, it will be the end of me. I'm not sure the wife will ever be able to pry it away from me. :r

I have the G-1 and the 3g speed is great! I also love the fact that I'm not paying for programs, I can replace the battery if it dies, and I can expand the memory to currently 16gigs for about $20. :tu

I've been wanting one forever, Carlos. I think the Blackberry Storm is more what I need, though. I've checked out the iphone a dozen times and I just can't get beside it for some reason. It might be because I have a dozen ipods. :D
I have an ipod within 10 feet of me at all times.
Let us know how you like it. Maybe that'll make up my mind for me. :tu

Chances are there will be an upgrade to take the iPhone to 32gb. If 16gb is plenty of space for you, buy now.

The apps don't take up a lot of space. It would be movies, music and podcasts that take up most of your storage space.

There is no doubt about this..and when that happens I'll just buy a larger Micro SD card to pop into my G-1 :D


Don't get me wrong...I'm not try to bash the iphone like I usually do to people. I just hate the way they keep hooking people in with their innovative products...then come out with something just a tad better, forcing you to upgrade for the 2nd time in a year.

I have tried the BB Storm with the touch screen that clicks...it's ok..still feels a bit bulkier than I'd like.

Good thing I don't hold grudges.
I bought my MacBook.
A month later, a bigger hardrive was now being offered and the price dropped.
I was ticked off for a few days.
Got over it.:D

I just had to have mine replaced a few days back because the thing that reads the sim card went out. It was a pain in the ass, but they swapped it out straight accross. Make sure you back up your info, I didn't and lost a lot of contacts due to my laziness

No worries bro...my coworker was confused about why I got the G-1 with internet when Edge is so dang slow..:D He was shocked that Tmo has 3G speeds because they don't advertise it as well.

Now the question, do I buy it from Apple in the mall or from Best Buy.

Best Buy has same as cash for 6 months so I can slow pay it with no interest.
Not sure if Apple offers a better experience.
My MacBook came from Best Buy and they have been great with the two prior returns.

A thread on it, but don't think it helps much as you are buying it for personal use I believe

No student discount on iPhone from Apple Store like other products so that is no help.

Not sure how the warranty works from each place for an iPhone, but best buy does have a pretty good warranty for how much Apple stuff you break Carlos.

Without really looking too deeply into it, it appears that it is a horse a piece. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

FYI I would buy it from the Apple Store just because I'm pretentious like that :r :D

Just called Verizon and turns out today is not the last day of the contract.
Today is the first day of no contract.
Ended yesterda.

Believe me, with all the things you can (and will) do with the iPhone, the battery gets sucked down quickly. This is a must have, and it charges the extender battery at the same time you are charging the phone.

Good price, also. They were $49.95 before Christmas.
