Cigar Asylum Fantasy Hockey 2023-2024
 

New stakes this year hoping to get a few more teams. Commitment is 5 Cuban OR Premium non-Cuban cigars.


Minimum of 8, maximum of 16 teams, Head-to-head scoring, live draft with ability to pre-rank players if you need to auto draft.. Draft order will be random and snaking. We need an even number of teams due to the head-to-head scoring.

Payouts will be to 1st and 2nd place, and possibly the regular season winner as well if we get enough players. This is a commitment, please do not express interest if you (A) will not be interested in playing a full 9 month season and (B) will not be up for sending cigars to the winners in June of 2024.

We are looking for people who have been at Cigar Asylum for 6 months or more, only so I know the players are in for the long haul. Sorry to anyone with less time here. Priority to last season's players, but plenty of room for new teams.

So I'd like to try and get some consensus on good nights and times for the live draft for those who participate. I know we can't please everyone but let's try and please the majority.

For me, Monday and Wednesday evenings are best, but I can do the other weeknights for sure. How about you guys?

Early evening like Eastern 6pm Tuesday, Thursday or Friday for me but 6 EST any day could work!

Live draft means you pick your players from the remaining ones. Otherwise it picks based on the rankings (default, or you can tweak your own rankings prior to the draft).

Brett, I'm not home until around 7PM EST on weekdays, so hopefully an hour won't cause too much heartburn?

7 is okay. No later if possible. I am opposite time and need to get to work :) Thursday or Friday is best but whatever the consensus is I will make it work!

OK....we are having no inquiries into replacing GGX in the league so far. I don't know what else to do. Anyone have any heartburn if it comes down to it if I just play 2 teams?

I am thinking we draft the 9th, the day before the season starts. It's a Monday, and gives anyone who is not live drafting the chance to pre-rank the players.

Going to work on this later tonight, and getting us set for a live draft Monday. Auto draft is available for anyone who can't be live with us. Several winning teams have been selected by auto draft. ;)

That would explain it, i went to asylum hockey and they throw you in some random league that is most likely a pay to play league because they are kind of scummy that way. haha

John and I both offered to have a second team. Anyone else interested in that if we don't get a 10th? We can have someone draw straws if it comes to that.

How about a "zombie team", have it draft last, auto start players each week, no pick ups or drops just let the chips fall where they may and a few of us can drop in a cigar each at the end of the year for that teams payout?

Dude they are playing the patriots east ... there is no way they lose. The offensive genius McDaniels has an O-line that couldn't stop me and a rookie QB active for the first time and the master head coach called nothing but deep routes the entire first half and half of the 3rd quarter while matching Mack up with a rookie one on one. If you want to laugh search Josh McDaniels burner account. It "could" be a master troll job but Josh is just stupid enough to call that play and his own number.
