The Moped of Cigars

There is a saying about Mopeds "They are fun to ride as long as your friends don't catch you"

So here is the question. What is your "moped" of cigars?

I thought about this when I was thinking of picking up some more "mild" everyday sticks and I just happen to see this promo at Holts.

http://www.holts.com/category.html?i...tent=CWR092013

I happen to like the Baccarat cigars especially at that price however, I know most guys don't. They are my "moped" of cigars.

What is yours?

Backwoods and Black N Mild's. Yardgar and Fishing. Sometimes for a quick smoke when the weather isn't cooperating.

I started with Black and Milds and on the occasional fishing trip would go back there. However about 3 years ago I was headed on a long road trip stop at a gas station jones-ing for a cigar grabbed a pack of black and milds. Lit the first one and powered through about 3rd of it and gave up. I surprisingly couldn't stand it.

Those sir are some "moped" cigars. You know what they say "smoke what you like"!

My non smoking friends don't know enough about cigars for me to care and I wouldn't care anyway, if I'm going to smoke something it's something I enjoy, that's all that matters. I'm not out to impress anyone or be ashamed of what I like.

Really??

I really don't have one. I just reach into one of my boxes and pull out what I pull out.

I don't have a stick that I'm "ashamed" to smoke. I enjoy everything I smoke. :2

For me it's the Drew Estate Natural English. Not something that I go around and brag about smoking on a somewhat regular basis. I find it's a good cigar for when I am looking to either smoke something light and sweet or when I am smoking 3-4 cigars in a day I like to get one in the rotation to cleanse the palette a little bit.

I guess I didn't take the op literally, I'm not ashamed to smoke anything I enjoy. With that said, there are smokes I like that don't receive much love form certain types, 5 Vegas Miami is one.

X2, that's how I took the thread, too.

My 'gateway' smokes were the DE infused. I quickly discovered the joy of non infused sticks. I still enjoy a Tabac every now and then, not too sweet with just a hint of chocolate. Besides the taste, I really enjoy the aroma of them.

Re: The Moped of Cigars

my "moped" of cigars? hmm... that's an interesting question.

To ring in with the rest, Smoke what you enjoy and damn what people may think about it...

But to answer the question as I suspect you meant it, I would have to say my "moped" is typically any Gurkha that has found its way into my collection. I enter the experience thinking, this is probably going to be disappointing, that way, if I enjoy any part of the smoke I have gotten more out of it than I expected. :lr

Ill give Gurkha its due however, the Black Ops and the Gurkha Ninja weren't half bad. Then again I guess when you make 1000+ blends you are bound to find one that isn't half bad. just be prepared to be let down with the other 998...

Re: The Moped of Cigars

I haven't tried these yet but intend to and suspect they may be my "moped"... I like sweet sticks anyway and what looks like a great price/performance ratio for the Robusto 2-FER makes me think these could become a good everyday stick.

Yes it definitely wasn't literal..lol It's about what do you like many others may not like. Or what is the smoke you enjoy that may just be unpopular among other smokers.

AF Curly Head Deluxe maduros - the ultimate yardgar

Also, any JLP fits the bill, also.

Re: The Moped of Cigars

I have given up smoking yardgars. T0 me, it's just not worth it to smoke a mediocre, or worse, cigar just for the sake of smoking. But a Quintero, or CC Fonseca is about as low as I will go and they are not bad smokes.
