Unofficial PAC 12 Football Thread 2013
Here we go......LOVE this time of year!
PREDICTIONS North – Oregon South - UCLA Champion – Oregon OPOY – DAT DPOY – Anthony Barr The Utes have to sweep the State of Utah(Utah State, BYU and Weber State) and win three PAC 12 games to be bowl eligible…..UGH. Not sure they can do either. Will cross my fingers for wins against USU, BYU, Weber, Washington St., Colorado and then hope to get either Oregon St./Arizona and go bowling. 15 days until kickout….and that Thursday night against Utah St. should give a decent indication of what type of team Utah is going to field this year. |

North Champ: Oregon. The Oregon at Stanford game will determine the PAC 12 North Champ.
South Champ: Arizona State. I know UCLA is the favorite, but I’m going to dare to be different here. Hopefully Oregon wins the PAC 12 – Go Ducks! |

Solid win for the Utes against a team that won 11 games last year and returned 14 starters, including their entire offensive line and QB, who I think it without a doubt, the most dynamic player in the State of Utah.
Utah appears to have a better offense, though there are concerns with they inability to run the ball effectively against Utah State. The loss of Kenneth Scott to a broken ankle is big...and going to hurt for the rest of the season. The defense looked bad at times, though I am not 100% sure that wasn't just Chuckie Keeton.... If I had a nickel for every time he should have been sacked and ended up making a play, I may be able to buy a soda. In the end, a win is a win, for the Utes... After next week they will be 2-0, with the sacrificial lamb, Weber State, coming to town. Then the schedule gets wicked.... |

I am feeling better about the Oregon State game. Feel like the Utah front 4 will be able to get pressure on Mannion, making it more difficult to pass. Hopefully that is the case, I don't think the Beavers can beat Utah with the run. IF Utah could win, would be a better start than I expected.
BC better not beat USC, because if so, they face Utah State the next game, who I believe is better than BC or WSU. If USC started 1-3, Kiffen wont coach game 5. |

On the other hand, forget it. I can't ever see wagering real money on Illinois to win anything. But...Badgers, Huskers and Buckeyes....it could happen

Huskers are getting 4.5, don't think they'll cover, UCLA is good and Mora will have them ready.
OSU is giving 16, they better cover, Cal can't stop a good HS team. Game up 30 to Portland State and 44 to Northwestern.....:r Wisconsin is getting 4.5, they may cover, this game may show how good ASU really is.(LOVE Gary Anderson) Illinois is getting 10 - NO IDEA, but just for the sake of this thread, Washington wins by at least 2 TD's. Straight up, 3-1. UCLA, ASU and Washington win. |

Feeling some bad JuJu here...... Some Utah fan apparently "turned in" one of BYU's best linebackers, for what at BYU is an "Honor Code" violation. Long and short of it is a Spencer Hadley was reportedly with a booster at the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas, someone took a photo or video, sent it to the Utah Athletic Department as a possible NCAA violation. (rumor is the booster flew Hadley down in a private jet) Who forwarded the information to the BYU athletic department.
I doubt anything will happen with the NCAA, but at BYU....you can't be in a Gentlemen's Club. Hadley gets a 5 game suspension for violation of the Honor Code. Don't sweat the tattle tale. If your dumb enough to go to da club as a byu athlete then you better be ready to sit the pine. This is an interstate rivalry. Tattle tale broke the bro code but when it comes to interstate football ---well played. Boise state and Fresno game pretty good tonight.

Wonder if the Ducks are going to feel the loss of Colt Lyerla? Not like they haven't played without him...but he's a talent all the same.
Looks like the line is 13.5....moving towards the Huskies from 14. That sounds about right to me, I don't see this being a nail biter. Meaning, the Huskies being a play away from winning the game. Cardinal coming to town, these are the type of games that can turn a program around....or leave it right where it is(which is my expectation). GO UTES! |

I believe Oregon rolls like the last 10 years. Mariota and Addison are on Fire!
The Huskies are improved but not ready to be a Top Team yet. They had a good run in the Stanford game but they caught the Cardinals napping last week. |

Beat Stanford and look great, lose to Arizona and look like they are sleep walking. So much talk here about losing Wilson, but he looked terrible before going out. Surprised there is not more talk about the kicker missing 2 very makeable fieldgoals, his first misses of the season.
In the end, I would have been pleased as punch if the Utes were 4-3 at this point, with a win over Arizona and loss to Stanford....so *****ing about those being flipped, seems unreasonable. Was hoping for a 6 win season and still on track for that. Before last week, I was sort of dreaming of 8 wins and a spot in the top 25.... |
