Best Box in Terms of Value and Quality

What box of cigars would you name the best in terms of value and quality?

I would go with Punch Gran Cru Maduros at 20/$96 or the Ramon Bueso Genesis at $75

But that's just me. What do you guys think?

Partagas Mille Fleurs are pretty consistent and can be had for around 75

Another vote for 601 Blue, plus a vote for Punch Bareknuckle Rothschild, 20 for $69.95 (plus a free sampler pack at some places.)

I'm a fan of the Nicaraguan Ligero Laced 2nds. Averages about $1.75 a stick. or the AJ Fernandez Overruns...$2 a stick.

Re: Best Box in Terms of Value and Quality

Always forget about the Nic 5000s. For as cheap as they are I feel like I should have smoked a few by now. I have also enjoyed the Gispert line. I liked them a little more when they were 49.99 a couple years ago. I believe they are closer to 70 these days.

Re: Best Box in Terms of Value and Quality

601's, brick houses can be found cheap, SLR rothschild (come in a 50ct box so i guess the whole thing isnt cheap, but the individuals are), alec bradley american classic (i perfer the sungrown). If i want to be in the lower mixed fill range, benchmades all day (made by pepin, distributed by ashton, super cheap and a nice spice)

Gran Habano Vintage 2002 on CBid. You can get a 20 bundle for about $30.

I always enjoyed Sancho Panza Extra-Fuerte Corona's box of 20 for around $45.

But the best deal I got was a box of Cubao Maduro torps for $55. off Cbid wish I could track those down again!

601 Blues are great. Partagas Black Magnificos 20/$85 is also a good quality/value in my book.

Kelmac07 - have you found the Famous Nic 5000's to be consistent
from bundle to bundle? I bought several bundles a few years ago
& like 'em, but I wonder whether these are the same smokes they
were, as bundles often 'change' over time (tobacco, maker). If
they're as good as they were, I'm ready to buy a couple more.

From JRs, their Ultimates are a great bargain, with too many choices to enumerate. As for bundles rather than the specified "boxes", their Consuegra seconds are hard to beat. NB, I much prefer the Honduran Connies over the Dominican ones.

I have smoked some from 2008, 2010 and just bought a few bundles at the end of 2012 (of which I smoked one)...all have been consistently good. I let them sit for 18-24 months before I smoke them. :dr :dr

CC RyJ Mille Fleurs

NC AF Short Story

The RyJs can be had for less than 90. The Short Stories may not be a "value" but, on the whole, I would rather smoke one really good cigar every few days than several mediocre ones every day. For me, it's all about quality.

PDR Oscuros in the value section.
Tat PCRs in the "little guy" category
PSD4s in the CC class
Possibly Oliva Vs or Tat Black PCLs in the $5-7 range

I think this is their everyday price too... Tho last time I bought some from Holts, I had a funny result, I bought two 6 packs, and the bands were different colors between the two 6 packs, one was more vibrant like the MB3's you see at a B&M but the others are completely off, kinda faded like. Funnily, they taste a little different too, makes me wonder if Holt's knowingly/unknowningly supplies knock offs.

They both tasted good tho, so I can't complain too much lol.

I still have a few of both so if anyone needs pics I can supply lol.

There ya go!!

Although these are bundles, I guess they technically don't adhere to the title of the thread. But these are my everyday smokes now. Should add these over at the cheap smokes thread.

+1 on illusione r rothchildes.

I've been diggin on the Cain F Lanceros, Tatuaje Havana VI, Padron X000 and Fuente Short Story in Maduro or Cameroon.

If I see a good deal I always jump on My Father 1922 Le Bijou in Petite Robusto. The same can be said about Fuente 8-5-8 w/ Sungrown wrapper.

For CC, PSD4 and Boli PC all day long
