Finally pulled the trigger.

1 Attachment(s)
Just bought me an 18 bottle NewAir fridge. I've been wanting one for quite a while.

It will probably be a while before I get it all set up though.

Gotta get more beads, some cedar, more hygrometers and fans.....

It should look nice when its done though.

If you're going to get shelves made order them quick they take a few weeks to get but are so worth it. Chris has a good thread on setting on up and prepping it. If you have any question just ask.

I love mine :D

For that size, I question the need for fans. :2

Great set up though!

Yea, it was a bit smaller than I anticipated.

I was gonna put 2 computer fans in there with a fan controller on a timer so it would kick on and off throughout the day.

I already converted one computer fan to 110V which will run on a timer on and off.........

Between the one fan and the wineador running during the summer, It should be plenty of air movement.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger.

I have one of the battery operated fans in mine (i bought 2) and I took the one out and put them both in the lauderdale, no real difference at all, the fan in the fridge does more than enough and since it is built as a fridge, the seal is perfect etc., so the RH is pretty even top to bottom.

You could save the fans and make an electric coolidor though :D

I may just do that..........I have a feeling I might need a cooler sooner than later.

How do you like the 18 bottle size? I just ordered shelves and plan on buying the unit soon since the trays take 5 weeks. Is it a decent size unit, enough for boxes side by side on each shelf?

It's a LOT smaller than you think it is.

Good luck with larger boxes.

Thanks for the heads up, I already ordered the 18 bottle, probably should have saved more and gotten the 28 bottle. I don't have lots of boxes yet so hopefully it will be fine.

Did you use electrical tape or silicon to plug the drain hole?

To give you an idea of the storage space, I have a NewAir 18-bottle. I have three shelves with drawers and currently have six boxes in the bottom with room for a seventh if I did some more thorough Tetris-ing.

That will be more than enough for my needs. Thanks :tu
What did you use to plug the drain hole?
