The Country is better because of you, and much worse off without you.

”There is a port of no return, where ships
may ride at anchor for a little space.
And then some starless night the cable slips,
leaving only an eddy at the mooring place.
Gulls veer no longer, Sailor rest your oar.
No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore.”

Wow.
Lived through so much, four tours in Iraq, being shot, IEDs, and to die this way.

A true, true American hero.

Sad day.

RIP

Finally saw the actual story on this. Trying to help the guy out and gets shot in the back no less. Just goes to show how bad this country is at dealing/getting help for those with mental health problems. Sad, sad, story.

Couldn't agree more.

A damn shame to loose such a great guy so early. Even though he was a SEAL he was still a true hero. We will sorely miss him. See you in Valhalla my friend, you keep the high ground we will continue the work here.

Very, very, good writeup here, brothers. I didn't realize he actually had beaten Hathcock's record. Don't quit before you read the part where he punches conspiracy nutbag Jesse Ventura in the face after he started to spin his self-promoting anti-America, Anti-war rhetoric, at a Marines' wake, no less.

May he find peace in death that he struggled with in life. A damn fine human being has been lost and a horrible loss for his wife and child.

Re: RIP Chris Kyle

Some of you who know me from other boards may know that I deployed to Iraq with Seal Team Three in 2006, as part of their support staff (read: I was an MP, not a Seal).

I didn't know Chris, personally, but I was in the TOC (tactical operations center) in Fallujah when he was doing his thing in Ramadi. When he made his kills, I'd get the report.

We lost 2 members of the Team while I was in the TOC, and that was bad enough. I was sorry to hear of this. Rest in Peace Mr. Kyle.
