New York Mets 2013 Banter
Another year...and I believe this one's gonna a lot more painful than last year. Minor league outfield (at best) and a completely depleted bullpen...hoping for anything but a last place finish in the NL East. :D

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Hey, they are tied for 1st place at the moment. What more could you want?

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
It did take until just about the All-Star break for them to completely collapse last season. So, there's that.

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Hopefully the Phils can give your Mets a little more competition this year, horrible year for Philadelphia sports. Thank God I'm an English Football fan, even tho I get my balls busted for liking such a "pansy" sport

Well you wouldn't get them busted, were those players a bit more willing to get THEIRS busted during a game instead of flopping like 2nd-grade girls. :r |
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
As if things weren't going to already be tough...Nats signed Rafael Soriano to a two year deal.

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Pitchers and catchers 21days

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Hairston signs a two year deal with the Cubs. The reality of that minor league outfield is gonna happen. :bh :bh
|
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
With the current state of our pitching, we're not going to need an outfield anyway. All they'll have to do is stand there, look pretty and watch the ball fly over the fence!

Is it your life goal to bash Mets fans? :)

But quite frankly, the Met outfield is a joke. Such a joke, that when Sandy Alderson was asked about his outfield, his response was "What outfield?". I'm sure the fact that the Mets have done nothing to improve their biggest weakness has you angry. Just don't be angry at me, be angry at Sandy! :D |
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
I'm not angry at you (see the smiley face)! I too think the management is a joke and think the Mets should just sit out this season.
|
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
I'm happy to bring Met fans even more bad news. ;)
Atlanta has just acquired Justin Upton from the Diamondbacks in a 7 player trade. Since we were talking about outfields, let's look at Atlanta's BJ Upton, Justin Upton, Jason Heyward When you compare that to the Met outfield, ouch! Hell, even the Marlins have Giancarlo Stanton in their outfield! Mac, grab your glove, you're going in! :r:r |

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
I'm game for joining in the Mets bashing...I mean banter, but can we talk about something other than their outfield? The Phillies outfield isn't a looking a whole lot better.
/threadjack :D |
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets sign Latroy Hawkins to a minor league deal today. Guess it can't hurt the bullpen...another 40 year old veteran. :bh :bh

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Woohoo...another youngster!

I was watching Discovery Channel today 'how to catch a smuggler' and had to think of Mac when one of the custom guys said '90% of the criminals in NYC that wear a cap are wearing a Yankees cap' -(P

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Thought I'd stop by one of my favorite forums...Mets Basher...er Banter....always best to start with a joke...
Q: Why did the Post Office recall their latest stamps? :D A: They had pictures of Mets players on them and people couldn't figure out which side to spit on. ;s |
Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets start spring training off right by beating the Nats, 5-3. Tejeda homers off Strasburg in the first...we'll take wins any way we can get them. :D

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets tie the Astros today 7-7. Hey, it isn't a loss. :D

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets pitching staff is showing a preview this afternoon of the upcoming 2013 season. Two no name pitchers (Gorski and Torres) give up four runs each while walking three in two innings of work. This season is gonna be hard to watch. :bh :bh :bh

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
It sure is gonna be a long season.....

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets and the Nats play to a 4-4 tie after 10 innings.

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
Mets go down to the Nats today 8-5. Cowgill and Byrd continue to rake this spring training. Possibly pushing Duda out of the picture completely, at least to start the season. Den Dekker's glove is Gold Glove caliber, however, his bat is nowhere near major league ready. Starting outfield may be Byrd, Cowgill, and Valdespin with Baxter thrown i as the fourth.

Re: New York Mets 2013 Banter
I'm feeling fairly good about the season, at least there is more to look forward to than last year... Besides it's not the all star break yet..lol
