School shooting in Connecticut

Please pray for these kids and those involved. So sad to see this again. The innocent targeted again.

My heart and prayers go out to the people that are part of this. The parents, the teachers and most of all the students that have to carry this with them. I agree, Guns are a tool and like most tools if not used right it can cause damage. We need to teach people about the tool not take it away. Because the bad guys will always find one.

I normally do not get terribly upset by this kind of stuff, by this one really upset me. Just kids minding their own business prepping those letters to santa and then this.

There is a special little corner of hell for folks like that. So sad. My wife and I had our firstborn 3months ago and I do not know what to think of this giant turd of a planet anymore.

just sucks.

Trying to hold out until more info comes out, but this, to me, seems to be an overprotective parent taking his kid's problems with his classmates to an extreme. Sounds like an entire class was victimized.

Crazy... Been watching the news update at work. God bless to all those kids and teachers trying to protect them. Word is 18 kids, 8 adults, and the shooter died. Apparently another person is in custody.

Again, horrific. May the Lord God watch over all in this school.

I lived in Naugatuck, CT, about 40 minutes from Newtown.

Exactly my sentiment. Except my boys are 5 and 2. My thoughts went straight to my son sitting in his preschool class, and me being too far away to do anything to protect him.

Crazy people in this world. I have 2 year old twins, it makes you worried to even send them to daycare or school anymore. My prayers are with these poor children and their families.

The last news I just read indicated that 26 were dead including 18 children. The gunman was found dead and a second suspect is being held for questioning.

Sick bastard.

I am sick to my stomach with this news. Don't even have kids. A gun ban will not solve this issue, but something needs to be done and it needs to be done soon.

I'm just numbed by it. I can't even fathom the pain of these people, especially the mothers and fathers of these children.
May God assuage their pain.

...:sad

I had heard about this tragedy on the radio while conducting business in Hollywood this morning, and had just parked my car on Santa Monica Blvd across the street from an elementary school. A red pickup truck was slowly traveling the opposite way with a Santa Clause standing in the bed. I had just exited my vehicle as the pickup made a right-turn into the school yard, and my eyes then noticed that several classes were lined-up out front in the playground with their teachers and what appeared to be parents too. Someone announced on a megaphone "Here comes Santa everyone. Let's welcome Santa..." wherein all of the children started yelling Santa' name and cheering for him.

Then I thought back to those children in Connecticut whose Xmas was taken away from them today. Had to grab a Keenex you know?

Early this afternoon, I picked up my 16 yr old daughter from school on her short day. As she got in the car, I gave her an extra special big hug and told her that I loved her. We hit Jack n the Box thereafter and enjoyed some lunch and some extra time together.

Our prayers go out to those that lost a special loved one this morning...

Sounds like the shooter's Mother was the teacher in the classroom where he did the most damage....haven't heard if this has been confirmed yet though.

That is also what I heard - and that she was also one of those now dead.

seriously what could of been so bad in this kids life that he had to go out and kill all those innocent kids? people these days have no regard for another human life its just senseless and im terrified of what the future will bring! no gun control is not the answer but what is? i dont have a lot of years on my feet but i do know that 20 years ago we didnt have stuff like this then. so what has changed between then and now? this is just getting ridiculous.

prayers for the families that have lost a loved one.

Tragic, sickening, disturbing come to mind. I think the worst thing I heard today was that parents were instructed to go to the fire hall to find their children. I can't even begin to imagine the macabre of parents looking for their children only to find out they were one of the victims. That would be a pretty horrific scene in itself.

When my wife and I first heard about this, we were both horrified. We have 1 grandson in high school and another in kindergarten. Our prayers go out to all those involved in this senseless act of violence.

It was an act of pure evil committed by someone who was, no doubt, seriously mentally ill. My prayers too go out to all of the children and families.

Am I the only one who is disturbed by the non-stop cable news coverage of this tragedy?

Mac you said!

As a father of two young girls, I am not even going to pretend to have any idea what these parents are going thru.....my prayers go out to them.

It infuriates me! put me within 25 yards of one of these evil mother f--kers and my 10 mm and I will smoke-um like a pack of Cools without hesitation.

All these cowardliness school side shootings began right after the implantation of "gun free" school zones :2

As tragic as this incident was, there is some frickin idiot out there joyfully praising this prick!! And sadly enough there will be more of these horrific incidents like this, because some psycho out there somewhere will try and out do this one! I pray for this stuff to stop, but unfortunately it continues to get worse....
