Cigars and your Significant Other
So, I was dating someone for a while that was lukewarm to the hobby at best and so she got the boot! (Just kidding, it was time to move on for myriad reasons -(P).
How does your significant other view your hobby(addiction might be an even better adjective for some :D)? |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife bought me my first box of cigars... little did she know it was a shove down the slope.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Wife Hates My Cigars, But She'll Get Over It!:D
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My GF doesn't care at all. She loves her wine, I love my cigars :)

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife doesn't know about my lifestyle........... yet :r

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife tolerates it and encourages my visits to the B&M to have some adult conversation time.
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Wife doesn't mind, but anything I was wearing must go into the basement in its own basket.

She doesn't mind me getting outside for a while though, it's the only time I am not anoying her. |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My lady supports my cigar hobby and contributes regularly to it. She has been known to enjoy the occasional cigar herself.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife puts up with it, she uses the "how much did you spend on cigars now.." to justify buying new clothes/fabric for making clothes but she does get exasperated
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Michelle is not a fan of my smoking cigars.
I think she prefers it to my previous tobacco use, Copenhagen and cigarettes. |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Kellie loves to come to herfs with me...but she always gives me the "evil eye" when those "damn boxes arrive" from the postman, UPS, FEDEX, etc. :r :r :r
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Imagine if there was an online forum for all the wives/girlfriends/significant others of cigar enthusiasts out there. What would be said? :r

She hates me spending money on it, but she'll take a few puffs off of one.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife: smoking is fine for the most part, however if I have to many packages showing up at one time, she starts to break my Balz.
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife supports it 100%. She likes to try my cigars and smokes one occasionally. She gets a kick out of how excited I get about it. :)
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
I am always walking the fine line balance of divorce and happily married. If I can sneak packages in undetected then we are good. If she finds one and I don't have an excuse ready, it's trouble on The Wood.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My better half doesn't mind 99% of the time. She knows I love the leaf & have been for over 15 years. We both buy them for me to smoke. She is a none smoke but sure loves the smell of anything Padron. -(P

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife loves my cigar hobby. She comes and sits with me everytime I light one up. She enjoys the aroma of the tobacco so she claims.
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife hates it, but she smokes cigarettes and I hate that so......, but like some others have said on here, I have to shower and brush my fangs and sanitize the mouth if I want some, sometimes I will skip smoking just to get some :ss :xxx she also says the same thing when I drink too so whatever lol.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My ex-wife HATED when I smoked a cigar. Or did anything else which made me happy and didn't directly involve her.
My ex-wife is not with me anymore. |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
Mine smokes them with me. She doesnt even mind if I stay out late with the boys at the B&Ms.

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
So, would you say it's mostly a money/spending/hoarding issue or the actual smoking issue that causes friction?

I once had a GF who smoked with me at the clubs we frequented; I always thought it was sexy as hell, until one night when we got home and were overcome by passion and didn't clean up a bit first; and when I kissed her it was like "Oh, hey, grandpa! Didn't know you were back from the dead!" |

Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife doesn't mind, heck she even let's me have te spare room for my cigar rolling. She has had the occasional cigar like a Java or acid.
She just doesn't like me buying cigars... And now that I have hit the slippery slope everything is shipped to my parents house. |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife is fine with it, although she worries a little about potential health risks. But she used to worry about my motorcycles too.
Of course she usually gives me a hard time if she sees a package arrive, just because she hates to miss taking advantage of a good opportunity. So I just make sure she doesn't see packages arrive. :D |
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife supports my habbit/hobby but does not like the smell on me. The smell of cigars being smoked does not bother her, it's the breath and the smell of the clothes after.
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My girlfriend is Cuban, and actually loves that I am into cigars. Total score for me.
|
Re: Cigars and your Significant Other
My wife is pretty good about it but occasionally I get a text or talk after she checks the bank statement. "STOP BUYING CIGARS FOR A WHILE" I get. So now I have a personal checking account for my play money.:noon
