What ever those small Opus X pyramid shaped ones are called. Fresh they are very peppery- or at least they used to be.

Power Ranger. They are super harsh fresh, tons of spice/leather/wood. I felt like I was chewing on a cedar plank with spice thrown in. Too much fresh. But it mellows out with time and they become smokable.

I had one of these but I didn't care for it. I thought it was kind of weak in the flavor department. Maybe I got a bad one

Do you guys consider the 5 Vegas "A", La Aroma De Cuba, Oliva V, or the Cain 550 to have a pepper flavor profile?

If you like the strong pepper blast, don't wait. Those flavors mellow out over time.

Impressions are one thing but you should never draw conclusions about a cigar based on a sampling of one or just a few sticks from the same box/lot.

Re: Big pepper bomb cigar?

Hurry and blow through to the pepper-est cigars. Once your tolerance is pegged, you can start working your way back down and find flavor and nuances in less peppery cigars that you didn't know existed before.

At least that was my 'curve', though grossly oversimplified.

I agree with you Peter. I am willing to try some more. What I meant to say was the one I had didn't really impress me. Thats why I added maybe I got a bad one.

A lot of people really like them, I'm sure I just got a bad apple.

WOW! This surprises me, Josh! This for me has been one of the most consistent and flavorful cigars to date and I have smoked quite a few of them now.

Did you have the Habano version? Give them another shot.:tu

I picked up a box of the non-pepin rolled Padilla 1932s last year and they are real pepper bombs. I'm hoping they'll mellow with more rest, because they aren't hitting the spot like last year.

Drew Estate acid is said to be working on infusing a cigar with ghost/habanero/and other various peppers.

I've got to admit, when the ad said "your lips will tingle" I didn't take it quite so literally...until I actually smoked one! Honestly, I can't say I hated this cigar though. Strong, but liked the flavor personally. Maybe with some age....who knows?

I agree, I nubbed mine. It mellowed out after the first inch or so.

I find a lot of DPG cigars feature pepper.
Ashton San Cristobals are a fav. The newer
SC Elegancia is a bit more subtle, but still
peppery.

As mentioned before DPG Blue, MOW Puro Authentico and Murcielago. Also 5 Vegas Miami is peppery most times.

The new Pepin Los Antilles is peppery to the nub,and the price point is agreeable......

Re: Big pepper bomb cigar?

For pepper, the LFD Digger was quite an endurance of pepper. The CuAvana Punisher incinerated my lips. I have only smoked one and it was on the golf course. I have smoked two Room 101 OSOK and the first 3rd of each cigar seemed very peppery.

oooo35980 07-29-2012 10:16 AM

Re: Big pepper bomb cigar?

I tend to stay away from anything that is supposed to be peppery, that being said, the CAO LX2 is probably the pepperiest cigar I've ever tried to smoke. Unpleasantly peppery I'd call it, but some people like em I guess.

Really? I remember it being very mild and creamy. I hear the Champagne Noir is a bit stronger though.

Re: Big pepper bomb cigar?

Why not just eat a jalapeno pepper or something then smoke anything? Your palate wont really know the difference as compared to what you seem to be looking for?

Maybe, I don't exactly remember. It was a Perdomo something or other (not too familiar with the brand except Lot 23) and was very spicy through the first half or so.
