I have a question about Heartfeld

I'm ording some Heartfeld beads. I'm thinking of ording some extra for a later project. So, do they have a shelf life if not used? I know this may be a dumb question to some, but I'm not sure.

I do not think they would.

Why not wait till you are ready to be safe?

Heartfeld is closed this month and will give a 15% discount on orders placed now.

Like I said it may be a dumb question but I don't have any experience with these beads.

Re: I have a question about Heartfeld

Heartfelt beads, if kept in a sealed container such as they ship in, will not "expire". Over time in a humidor, it is possible for the HF beads to "clog" (for some definition). This is a problem that the beads that cigarnut sells doesn't have.

I used HF beads for years and years without issue and even did like you are considering and pre-bought several pounds in anticipation of the slope without seeing any noticeable effect.

No expiration date as far as I know. I have been using HF beads for over 5 years and they still work perfectly. Extra beads can always be used as more will actually help regulate faster. :2

Why not ask Dave at HeartField, or HardFelt, or Hartfelt . . . . :) then, you'll know.

Why not buy a Molex with all the money you will save?

I've personally noticed that beads have be to re-hydrated more often than the other humidification devices
beads do have a shelf life. You probably should replace them every year or three depending on how they're doing

I would disagree with your assertion. I am no expert but I just happen to believe the opposite is true.

On another note, welcome to Cigar Asylum. Please post a welcome thread in our New Inmate forum and tell us a bit about yourself.

I would disagree as well, I have had mine for about 4 years and they work like they did when I first got them.

:r Besides litter boxes, I recall my father using kitty litter to soak up the oil that leaked from the lawn tractor, don't recall using it for cigars. :hm

Sorry, I make smart cracks and leave and forget to go back.
Molex was a play on Rolex, you can get you a nice Molex on DeLancy St. in NYC.

I was trying to be funny, as the bead company is HEARTFELT, not Heartfeld.
So I was joking that if someone sold you Heartfeld beads, maybe you should
get a Molex, too.

It wasn't funny. I personally like the Heartfelt beads more than the other widely available choice,
I think they are more user friendly. But others disagree. But if you buy some 65% Heartfelts,
you are good to go. Any unused beads will keep indefinitely in a plastic bag tucked out of sight
with no problems. Don't wet em and put em away, though, without first drying them completely
white and then some. YOU DO NEED to use only distilled water in them, though or they WILL clog.
But if you use them properly, you might die one day long in the future and still have beads that work.

Here is my response from Heartfelt.

The unused beads will store for a number of years. Just place them in a ziplock bag then place that bag in another ziplock and they will store well.
