Stress and cigars
I have been crazy stressed this last 1-2 weeks and I haven't felt like smoking at all. Was just curious if most find smokes stress reducing or like me where I need to be relaxed and ready to be able to enjoy.

Re: Stress and cigars
I want to smoke when I've had a stressful day/week. It helps me relax

Re: Stress and cigars
I want to smoke whether I'm stressed or I'm already in a realxed mood.
You can never be too relaxed, as long as you're still breathing that is. |
Re: Stress and cigars
Nice way to unwind!:tu

Re: Stress and cigars
Smoking relaxes me, so if I'm stressed I light one up.

Re: Stress and cigars
I find Cigars help me relax when I need to de-stress.

Re: Stress and cigars
Agree with above. Helps me to relax. However, when stressed or in a bad mood, I've learned not to go straight to the top shelf for maximum relief. I get more bang for my buck if those wait for a better going-in mood.

Re: Stress and cigars
I've found it to be a great stress relief. Sit on the back deck where it's quiet and enjoy a nice long smoke.

Re: Stress and cigars
Definately helps me de-stress. I love a great smoke after a stressful day or a stressful week. Maybe someone should create a "best de-stressing cigar experience" thread if there isn't already one! ;)

Re: Stress and cigars
Depends, if I'm so stressed that all I want to do is crash, I'll forgo a cigar and just vegetate. Usually stress has me looking forward to a cigar at the end of the day though.

Re: Stress and cigars
I am definitely thinking about lighting up when I have had a stressful day. It feels great to just sit back and enjoy a cigar and coffee.

Re: Stress and cigars
A wise man once told me, "You can't smoke a cigar and stay pissed off. The two are mutually exclusive."

Re: Stress and cigars
I must be in the minority here. If I am really stressed, the last thing on my mind is a cigar. I also find I don't enjoy the cigar. It's only when I am in a good mood and relaxed that a cigar sounds tasty.

Re: Stress and cigars
I choose to smoke and have a nice drink.

Re: Stress and cigars
I will enjoy a cigar regardless of stress. Living in Kansas the only things that stop me are wind and more wind. I do find that a cigar and a stiff drink will releave stress for me rather quickly.

Re: Stress and cigars
I find that a cigar and classical music on Pandora through my iPod de-stresses me as good as anything else. Oh, need a root beer, too.

Re: Stress and cigars
For me it depends on how stessed I am. If it was an extremely stessful weekend and now I'm just in a mood that I was to get into a fight with anyone that encounters me than I can't sit still to enjoy the cigar and let it relax me.
If Its just been one of those days/weeks and I just need to sit back, then the first thing I do what I get home is poor me some nice whiskey and go pick a stick out and sit back with some music (maybe the ball game depending on the season) and unwind. So for me there is a scale of stress that I can, it's kind of like ever get so hungry that you can't eat? Too much stress I can't sit still to relax. |
