Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
They're all over around here. One right over in Kent. I haven't been to one for awhile, I'm long overdue. :tu
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
It's been a long long while.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Are you near Pittsburgh? I'm a life long Steeler and Penguins Fan. I noticed your Avatar.
If you are near the Burg', do you eat at Primanti Bros |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
There is a 5 guys a mile away and a frys electronics about 20 minutes away.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
New one opened two months ago a mile from the house...YUMMY!!! :dr :dr
The one 20 miles down the road that has been opened for two years...not so much!! :td |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
About two years ago 5 Guys started popping up like weeds in the Boston area. This place has great burgers and fries. The location closest to me recently got one of those really cool Coke Freestyle machines. It dispenses something like 127 different flavors of soda.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I have 2 with in 15 minutes of my house. not a good idea.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I have couple around me, I eat there now & then its just a lot of food but good.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
We have them in Green Bay, but once I had my first In n Out burger, I've never went back to 5 Guys.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I pass one twice a day, to and from home.
I actually just posted here with the hopes that you might reciprocate and post in my pizza thread. Thanks! |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
There's one about 30 minutes from me. My friends and I go there a few times a month. It is kind of pricey, around 10-11$ for me, albeit is a large amount of food..well...fries
I get a double bacon cheeseburger with barbecue sauce, raw onions and sometimes jalapenos :tu |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Great burger!
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
5 minutes from my office.
I weigh more now. |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
got a new one on UofM campus about 10 minutes from me. Haven't been to it yet but i've been to them before. they are stupid good but i'd still rather have a In'n out burger any day of the week... mmmm... double double animal style with animal fries.. fml now i REALLY want one.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
They suck.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
They are too expensive for me. For the price of 1 burger and fries I can get a large pizza delivered.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
my favorite coffee house is about 2-3 miles aways and in the same plaza a brand new 5 guys that just opened up last month.
:tu:tu |

I went their once. I don't get those slim Wendys like burgers. I'd rather have a fuddruckers 1 pound burger. |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
What a surprise! I really like Five Guys. Like In-n-Out too, but they are not in Oregon.
Oh well, as they say "to each his own" and you guys just don't know what the F you are talking about :r |

I tried it once, didn't like it that much. Prefer In & Out, or A&W.

Seems clear to me that Michael was talking about In-n-Out, of which there are none in Oregon. |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Five Guys > In & Out
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Not sure why everytime I see this discussion on forums, it always ends up FiveGuys vs In-n-Out. They are not even remotely close to the same type of joint. It is like comparing Outback to Ruths Chris.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Usually the response I get. They are not the same though. InOut is typical small sqaure patties like Wendys with limited toppings. 5Guys serves huge burgers with tons of toppings. They both make them fresh with 100% beef and it all goes on a bun. That is where the similarities end. Saying that they are the same is like saying that a Philly Cheese Steak from Subway/JerseyMikes/Lennys is the same as a Philly Cheese Steak from Pats/Tony Lukes.
...I dont care for either 5guys or InOut , Btw.... |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Meh, they are ok. For a cheap burger they are good. Otherwise I could live without 5guys.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I have 2 within 10 mins of my house. They are good, but there are better burgers/fries around town.

I just had it yesterday. It was good.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I have a new one about 5 minutes from my office. Was going to try them one day until I got onto their website to check out the nutritional information, and needless to say, it is not on my diet. Holy balls!
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Had them in DC, California, Texas and in between. IMO, when they left the DC area they went down hill. DC 5 Guys somehow still manage to beat ones outside the area IMO, but still can't live up to what they were even as little as 5 years ago.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I have a Five Guys about 5 minutes from my house. I prefere to drive the 10-15 minutes to Juicey Burger. Same concept, but much better quality meat.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Had them on Saturday....not really that good. Try The Habit or The Dog Haus!!!
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I actually tried it once when the Cerritos, CA branch had opened; and I did not enjoy my eating experience. Grant it that they had a Disneyland length line, but they had messed up my order twice, and the burger and fries way over greasy, and everything tasted like oil in the end. I also didn't know what to make of the peanut shells that littered the floor. I would rather much have In N' Out =).
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Haven't been there in years, there is one 5 minutes away but I rarely eat burgers at restaurants. It's better and cheaper for me to cook one up.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Had one open near us recently. Also a Smash Burger- which we have yet to try.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I'm a big fan of Five Guys. I used to wonder what people saw in In-N-Out, but then I realized that you had to get the double double and wow, I didn't know what I was missing.
Really, I think they are separate but equal. They are two different animals. If I had to choose, it'd be five guys due only to their fries. IMO, In-N-Out's fries suck. Had Dog Haus for burgers (and a dog a different day). That was great but it was almost too much. The beauty of five guys and In-N-Out is the simplicity. No frills burgers that just taste good. |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Was there the other day been a year since i have been there and really love the fries
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I used to enjoy their burgers (Not even close to in'n'out) until one day...................... I ordered a bacon, cheese and mustard hot dog. Best hot dogs I have ever had. They split them down the middle before grilling them so they have a nice snap to them. They are pricey for a hotdog but you gotta try one!!!
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Went once to see the fuss and it sucked. The fries were terrible once cold and that is how I got them.

Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
Weeze and I stopped at the one in Kent, OH on Monday. We had to run over and return our cable box and had planned on picking up salads somewhere.
We got the lady sized cheeseburgers, shared a small cajun fry, and still couldn't eat it all. Man, they give you a mess of food for the money. I love fresh cut fries, Weeze doesn't. She liked them good enough. They were right out of the grease and nice and crispy. I agree with you guys, cold, greasy fresh cut fries are awful. I'm sure they'd replace them in a heartbeat, but I've never got cold ones at any of the stores I've visited, which amounts to 3, maybe 4. |
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I never received cold fries, but I just do not like their fries. They are cut too thick for my preferences. I like thin crispy fries, I have never received crispy fries at 5guys.
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
I love 5 Guys in Panama City, FL
|
Re: Five Guys Burgers and Frys
We have a 5 Guys located in the Westfield Town Mall about 2 miles from our home. A friend of mine kept hassling me about "you need to go there and try one." So, I went, I tried, and really wasn't impressed.
On the other hand, my favorite place is "The Habit" burger grill. Its a small California chain with a couple of Habits located in the Arizona area as well. They make an awesome charburger with cheese:dr My backup location would be an In and Out... Quote:
