Powerhouse Sticks

Please allow me to preface with the following...I know that I'm not quite right in the head.

That said...

I'm always in the hunt for that one cigar that is just too much for my senses to handle and makes me have to put it down to take a break.

The problem is, I have yet to find it.

Tell me what cigars you've smoked that have downright kicked you in the rear, made you sweat profusely or have made you see the face of God.

I'm genuinely interested in hearing your tales of loathing, sorrow and
woe.

:D

LFD Double Ligero
JDN Antano

Those are the only two I have actually felt ill from. Particularly the Antano.

One of these made me stare at the ceiling and contemplate the remainder of my life for the better part of an hour after smoking it just the other day.

I smoked a Partagas Black Label, then a CAO MX2, then a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero and at the end of the day I got a little tickle. :D

Love me some ligero smokes!

Re: Powerhouse Sticks

I'll second the JdN Antano, but in the smaller ring guages. The Consul/Gran Consul's Ive had weren't that bad.

The OR Camacho Corojo would set you on your a$$. If you could get through the first inch you'd be ok.

Man of War Puros Authenticos
Litto Gomez Toothpick
Litto Gomez Diez Chisel

Re: Powerhouse Sticks

Lets see. The God of Fires are pretty strong. A My father Lancero in 90+ degree heat was pretty intense. Tatuaje Pork Tenderloins are strong but not too overwhelming.

I did :pu one of time from nubbing a Cohiba Behike 54. The whole cigar was fine, the nub was potent though. Never had that happen before. Smoked another and while I didn't lose it I still felt the nub was definitely quite a bit more intense.

I don't smoke strong cigars anymore but I did have a Opus X a few months back and that thing put me down. I had to pitch it half way through.

I agree, both two very strong cigars. Generally, anything from Nicaragua is powerhouse.

I appreciate the responses

Antanos?....I smoke those in the morning with my coffee on an empty stomach.

LFD DL's
LGD Chisel
Cain F's

I've had them all and none have given me a wallop.

I'm Islayphile, and I'm a full bodied cigaraholic

The old Litto Gomez Diez. Smoked an Oriental on the back deck in the middle of summer. Got a bad case of the spins, and I couldn't pick up another cigar for a week...

I gave a couple of those out recently to friends (at least I think they're still my friends), and the hilarity that ensued was priceless.

I bought those specifically because they were touted to be STRONG...

I was underwhelmed with their power, and I'm a huge 601 fan too.

More than likely the lack of chow in that case I'd say.

I'm drawn like a moth to a flame when I read a review of a stick that's supposed to slam you like Thor's hammer, though I always find myself wanting more power.

All those years of smoking non flitered camels in my youth may have doomed me I think.

Nasty...:lr. Although I smoked Marlboro lights like they were going out of style for seven years, two packs a day at least! I think that tore my pallet up!

You're not kidding...once I started smoking cigars I realized how disgusting those damnable cancer sticks were that I smoked years before.

My buddies first Opus was an A that I gave him...he did have to put it down half way through

I laughed at him thoroughly till he picked it back up....I was smoking an A at the time myself

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned but the Ferel Pigs are pretty stout.
Also if your going to try a LaFlor Double Ligero, go with the Chisel size and just punch it on the top and the bottom. That should give you some kick if your not a regular to stronger cigars.

I found the FFP's to be on ther lighter side of full and I smoke LFD DL Chisels often, especially the maduro.

I am a regular to full bodied sticks...

I'm seeking out the cigar that will put in me firmly in my seat and question whether I should stand back up too quickly.

;)

A Gurkha Empire VI made my head spin and palms sweaty once. That was early in my cigar smoking career. Always looking for that A@@ kicker....

Surprised I didn't see the Camacho Triple Maduro in this list.

Re: Powerhouse Sticks

The only cigar to ever make me sick was an Edge Maduro Toro I had early on in my time. When I say early on, I mean it was probably the 10th cigar I ever smoked. Nowadays, I'll spend a Saturday up at Empire, eat a decently full meal before I leave, smoke 5-6 cigars on average, and not eat anything til I get back home. That said, I'll drink a couple Cheerwines to help combat the vitamin N. This past Saturday I was up there from noon til about 9:30, made my way through 7 smokes, didn't feel a thing.

If you smoke these regularly you may have a hard time finding something to give you that kick in the jaw your looking to get. You may want to give the Cu-Avana Punisher a try although it may not give you a nic buzz but will give you some spice.

Yeah, that's why I'm asking here to see if I'm missing the hammer of all cigars.

Re: Powerhouse Sticks

I can pretty much smoke anything I want as early as I want these days. Having a Tat Black at 7:30 am now. I know that a fresh FFOX Power Ranger caused my head to spin once. Never really got the sweats from any Triple Maduro, LFD DL, JdN Antano, or a Tat Cojonu. Tolerance is pretty high I guess.

A cuban punch punch on a empty stomach is quite nasty.

Same goes for oliva V double coronas even after a heavy meal it made me feel sick.
