N00b seeking recomendations
I will be going to a larger b&m in about a week and I was thinking of trying something newI have a few brands in mind. I was hping some of you could say whether or not they would be good for a n00b like me. Im not a fan of candelas at all, but any other wrapper colors I find smokable. I prefer a medium to full bodied smoke as well. Some of the ones I liked best so far include Immenso, Kinky friedman kinksters, Drew Estate Dirt, Nub habano, Don peppin garcia blue label, excalibur, don tomas Maduro, Onyx Reserve, Padron Maduro
5 Vegas Cask Strength 601 green oscuro Ava Maria Cao Black Cau gold maduro cao mx2 diamondback El mejor emerald Helix Gurkha Viper Gurkha Black Dragon Graycliff Chateau Grand Cru Erin Go Bragh Obsidian Opus x ORTSAC Cain Daytona feel free to recomend others |
Re: N00b seeking recomendations

Re: N00b seeking recomendations
what is this newbie sampling trade? I dont understand the full details
|
Re: N00b seeking recomendations
Out of that list...I would say
Opus X Cain Daytona But what Frank said, get some samplers and hopefully that'll set you on the right path. But if you're headed there with singles in mind maybe try as many brands as you can, get an idea what each one is like. |

Re: N00b seeking recomendations
The NST is really quite easy. If you want to get in on it, post to that thread asking to be added to the next list. When Gator gets enough people to cover all trades, he'll post the list. You'll see your name listed as a 1st timer, then a list of CIA's you can PM. Pick one and tell them you'd like to do your first NST trade. They will provide you with their address where you'll ship 5 cigars of your choosing. Once they receive your end of the trade, the CIA will then ship out their end.
This will help you establish a trader rating, get you familiar with conducting trades and hopefully get you some cigars you've yet to try. After a 2 week wait when your trade has finished, you can request to be added as a 2nd timer, then a 3rd timer, etc. |

Try a Punch Rothschild Double Maduro. Great little cigar that's easy on the wallet.

Re: N00b seeking recomendations
dont know what there is to be skeptical about either. i posted the link in my first post along with some other useful links.
all you are doing is trading 5 sticks from your collection to someone else for 5 of theirs. its like trading baseball cards for adults :D |
Re: N00b seeking recomendations
I just picked up a punch no.4 maduro, seing it was close to that one suggested here. Ill post a review here in a while after I smoke it. and I think I may start with the NST after I get a stash built up so I have some to trade.

Re: N00b seeking recomendations
Still wondering why you are skeptical.
|
Re: N00b seeking recomendations
Pnoon I really dont know how to explain it. in any case I need to build up a stash of cigars I like. I only have 2 in my stash now. thats not including a bunch of machine mades or handmade candelas I wouldnt use for anything other than to get back at someone who screwed something up on my breadboarded circuits so they blow up in my face, or as shotgun targets
|
Re: N00b seeking recomendations
Hey, don't sweat it, we all were at that point when we started. If/when you get some cigars together that you could participate in the NST, it'll be there.

Re: N00b seeking recomendations
