Cruise

Just booked a cruise for the wife and I. Not till next year, but it will be during Halloween. It is the Mexican Riviera Cruise.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico are the stops.

Can't wait. We did our first cruise last year with the family, Just a 3 day one. It was awesome!

Sounds fun. Can you smoke cigars onboard?

Re: Cruise

The last one I was one, yes outside. This ship has a cigar bar/lounge. It's called Robusto Lounge.. So I am excited.

What cruise line?

My wife are heading out on a Mexican Riveria cruise in November with some friends -- it will be his 50th birthday. We figure there will be a lot of tequila involved :D

We are going on Disney Cruise Line -- The Disney Wonder. They do not have a cigar lounge but they allow cigars on deck and you can also smoke on your verandeh (if you have one).

It is a 7 day cruise with two stops -- Cabo (two days) and Puerto Vallarta.

Can't wait! :noon

I see you are from Beaverton. How are you getting to LA/Long Beach?

Re: Cruise

Flying into LAX; Disney has a shuttle that picks us up at the airport. We have been on several Disney cruises and are very happy with them.

Very cool Garry, don't forget to shop for cigars on your trip

I'm scared. I'm still a newb and not sure if I will know the difference in those BS sticks. I do remember, in ensenada they had a shop that had a walk in humi. They also had a guy selling them on the street.

We bought some from the shop. That is right around the time I got into them.

Just take a chance brother, if anything you will have a cool experience to share.

According to the LCdH website there are LCdH shops in both Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. I'v been to the one and Cabo and while expensive it is really nice.

Re: Cruise

What a Friday the 13th. Got a call from our travel agent. She had received a email yesterday stating.. Our cruise has been cancelled. It has been chartered out!

Either refund or pick new dates. We just picked a month before the original date. Ducks though, we really wanted to go during Halloween.

I want to know who booked the whole ship?!

I'll assume it is just a travel agency/business selling slots on a "Halloween Cruise"....

Re: Cruise

Cruise tip - If your worried about sea sickness. Dramamine works, but it knocked my wife and I to sleep. We took Ginger the next day and it worked like a charm with no sleepiness. We were on the Disney Magic and that boat was hitting some big swells. That night we went to the show and there could not have been more than 20 people in a big empty theater. Guess everybody else wasn't feeling too good. Pack some Ginger.

You boys have a great time and post some pics or report on the cigar friendliness of your ships if you have time.:)

CigarSquid 03-10-2012 07:45 AM

Re: Cruise

This will be my second cruise. My first was only a 3 day. I felt fine. I didn't seem to mind the motion the boat had.

I can't wait.. 6 months is so long, but short at the same time!

I also have never taken a week long vacation. I normally take 4-5 days mixed in with holidays from work. This will be the first time I ever have 10 days in a row off.

CigarNut 03-10-2012 08:52 AM

Re: Cruise

This is going to be our 12th cruise I think. Eleven of them with Disney (Magic, Wonder, Dream and soon the Fantasy). I occasionally get a little seasick so I get a prescription for the Scoplamine patches. Only thing I have found that works for me. I have only had to use them twice (ironically the first time I used them was on my Honeymoon :)).

Disney is cigar friendly and the ship I will be sailing on at the end of the month has a cigar lounge :D

CigarSquid 03-10-2012 09:11 AM

Re: Cruise

This one I am going has a lounge too. Robusto Cigar Bar. I am sure I will spend every morning there with some coffee.
