Rangers VS Tigers
How do you think it will play out?
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
The Tigers will win in 6.
Het, you asked how I thought it would play out, Andy. :) |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Tigers in 5.
Either way I hope the AL wins the WS. |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Rangers in 7
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Should be fun!
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Tigers of course...woot woot
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Tough call here...Tigers are hot right now and they have a nice pitching staff. But the Rangers can score plenty and fast, and they have a very good pitching staff.
Tigers in 7 (because that means Verlander goes three times) |

I think the Tigers win in 5 so that won't matter anyway :) |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
After hearing Delmon Young is out for the series I'm going to have to change my prediction to Tigers in 6. We are losing a hot hitter in the 3 hole and that will change things in the series.

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Dunno, and don't care. Like most of the nation, I won't be watching. :r

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Rangers in 6
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
I can't believe we are having this much rain. It hasn't rained this much here in months.

That said, I'm going to go with Tigers in 6. Tigers starters are all righties, as are their lights out setup man (Benoit) and closer (Valverde). Most of the Rangers better hitters are righties. The Tigers are mostly righty hitters vs 3 of 4 lefty starters. Numbers favor the Tigers on both sides. |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Good job by the Rangers bullpen, they did a number of the Tigers. Tigers bullpen looked good too, but the damage was already done.
I can't believe how many HRs the Rangers have in their line-up for the regular season...impressive, though I would bet their numbers would be smaller if they played 81 games at Comerica. Once again, Mother Nature f***s Justin Verlander. Don't be shocked if Leyland changes his mind and starts JV in Game 4. |

Great game last night.

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
It was a good game but man it took a long time to finish it.
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Good game, I'm still holding my prediction of Rangers in 6.

Game postponed until tomorrow at 4:19 ET. Lousy Rain :td At least Bud Selig got it right and didn't put the game at night during the Lions MNF game.

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Pretty much fouled up my Sunday, had the night off and the beer chilled. :td

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Ordonez out for the rest of the playoffs with a broken ankle. :td

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Young re-activated to take Magglio's place. Interesting.

Thanks Mike....wonder when (if) he will be able to play. The sooner the better.

I hope if he does play that he doesn't aggrivate his injury. BTW, you can read a number of great Tigers articles from 3-4 different beat writers at mlive.com: http://www.mlive.com/tigers/ |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Local radio just announced Delmon Young took batting practice today and felt good. They also said Zumaya will be involved in the first pitch tomorrow night at home. I wish we had a healthy Joel in the bullpen.

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Game 6, Tigers!!!

Rangers in 5....be nice if Detroit could pull it off though (for the city)

No offense intended, but realistically that's the likely outcome. |

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Good game 2 so far. If anyone thought the ump was short changing verlander in the strike box on game 1, the umps have made sure to make it up to the tigers in game 2. Some bad balls called as strikes at important times have helped the tigers.

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Walk off Grand Slam!!! That was one heck of a game!
|
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
No clutch hits for the Tigers, lots of chances with big bats up...and nothing.
Cruz has been a monster. It ain't over....but it ain't good. :hn |

BTW, I love the 1984 references to riots. Check your calendar, that was 27 years ago. You didn't see me ragging on NYC for the "Occupy Wallstreet" communists and their preference for deficating on police cruisers. Nor did I point out your former-governor's penchant for hookers. Furthermore, the stealing done in Detroit is not done by mobs and looters; it's done by the local government. Ask the Hip-Hop Mayor himself, I think he's out of prison for the moment. Now go away. :gary |
Re: Rangers VS Tigers
^^Hey! What's wrong with hookers?? :)
As a big Tiger fan, I'm truly disappointed the team as a whole hasn't really shown up in the play-offs. Especially the big guns. Guys like Rayburn and Santiago out hitting Cabrera and V-Mart is pathetic. Verlander struggling. Heck, Porcello's WHIP, BB and hits allowed is better than Verlanders during the last 2 series. And Leyland's continued corn-ball decisions continue to mystify. Seriously....Perry hadn't instilled any confidence during the regular season. Why put him on the roster at all? So he brings him in after Valverde struggled. I knew what was going to happen. As soon as Perry trotted out, I said "This game is over". And I was right. Perry has struggled in non pressure appearances. Did anyone really think he'd shine with a play-off game on the line? I know I'm being harsh...but geez. The Tigers are a better team than this (I thought, anyways). I wish Leyland had been let go, honestly. He's NEVER had a sense of urgency about any game, has shown he can choke in key games down the stretch and eventually that lackadaisical attitude permeates to the players. I have never been a Leyland fan since he quit on the Marlins in 1998, then quit again with the Rockies. Once a quitter...... Go Tigers....but I'm not terribly hopeful after the overall poor showing of this team... |

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Detroit Tigers outfielder Delmon Young has been scratched from Detroit's lineup for Game 3 against Texas, manager Jim Leyland announced Tuesday.
Andy Dirks will replace Young. Leyland said he does not know what Young's availability will be for the rest of the AL Championship Series. |

First, this skates dangerously close to being political, which is verboten. Me, I don't much care, but the ToE might. Second, I have no governor, former or otherwise. But New Jersey's former governor had a penchant for boys, not hookers. The present one has a penchant for Ding-Dongs. :D Now go away? Now make me. And while you're at it, play your little games on time, and stop screwing with my TV schedule. :r |

It's a baseball game...can't we all just get along?

Re: Rangers VS Tigers
Great pitching match-up coming up tonight. Lewis is 4-0 in the playoffs and coming off of a good pitching performance against the rays. Fister pitched a great game against the Yankees in game 5 and finished the season 4-0 with a .98 ERA at home. Going to be a fun one to watch.
