American Horror Story

Did anyone else watch this? So far I like it. I am a little lost but it keeps your attention.

I have been meaning to watch this, I like wierd stuff and the previews have caught my eye.
I must have missed the season opener though. It was pretty good?

Last night was the first time it aired.

DVR'd it to watch sometime this weekend

I watched it, I'm a little lost as well. Other than people moved into a house where people were murdered and the house is vaguely "evil" in some way, I'm not sure what is going on.

Oh, and based on her closing comment to the maid, apparently the next door neighbor has already killed the maid. Are they both ghosts?

I've got it in the DVR, might watch today when I get home.

Very interesting season opener. I like the layout of the show. Keeps you guessing and definately grabs your attention. This one will definately be in my DVR for the future!
That old maid that only the husband can see young and hot...creepy stuff...the younger version of her is actually hot!

Shane would like her...

I think so...all I know is they need to show more of the maid the way the husband see's her! If you saw the show then you know what I mean!:dr

I'll watch it on ON DEMAND

I watched it twice and though it was odd I really liked it. I have it set up to record the entire season. Been looking forward to this. My wife and I love horror movies so I am very happy to finally see something on television that isn't SciFi channel cheese.

TiVo'ed it, but there were other shows I wanted to get to first last night (SoA, Boardwalk Empire), so I will get to it when I get to it. Ads looked intriguing though.

That is why I kinda got out of it too. It is weird that they guy sees the maid as hot and everyone else not so much.

It's was....different. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "horror" show....

I'm watching it right now. First episode is all over the place. But I'm thinking I will like it more and more as the season goes on.

I can only imagine a horror show with a scary ghost coming at you with a knife---- "BUY TAMPAX TAMPONS!" Sorry- can't get into commercial TV because of the damn commercials.

Re: American Horror Story

Wow. I see serious potential in this show but I am also seriously lost. I will watch the next episode and if something don't begin to get answered then I will get a little skeptical. Then again I watched all six seasons of lost so I guess I can deal with how out there this one is.

This show is my kind of freaky! Can't wait to see how this show evolves.

Another interesting episode. I didn't exactly get any of the answers I wanted but I enjoyed the episode.

Maybe I am too distracted when I watch. I really like it but you have to pay close attention to connect the dots on the underlying story.

Yes, but very briefly.

Re: American Horror Story

I watched the first episode last night and DVRd the new one. I was alittle dissapointed with all the hype and the commercials for this show. It is a drama!!! Not scary and not as twisted as I had hoped. I was hoping for something more like "The Cell", loved that movie. I will give it another chance and watch the next episode though.

You're right bro. It is no horror show, but it is a good drama,a freaky drama that is, but you have to like dramas if you are going to like this.

I'm a little confused by people who don't think this is a horror show, especially those who watched the first episode.

I'm glad to see a show/movie that relies on good old fashioned atmospheric horror, instead of a guy with a mask on his face running around stabbing people with a pickaxe

I found very little horror aspect to the pilot episode. The drama seemed to really slow my interest down. I can't say I don't like it so far, just that it doesn't meet my personal expectation. The previews where so wierd and creepy, the actual show is a drama with a minimul amount of horror and creepiness.:2

you did see the basement scene, yes?:noon

How much horror is in the show depends on how you define horror.

ever see the original "Don't be afraid of the Dark?"

You mean the the part where they flicker the lights really fast and flash some confusing images and then she gets scratched? Yah it was "interesting"! I am going to be harsh in my judgement towards this show because the previews built it up so much for me.

Watched the 2nd episode last night. There is just something about that draws me in. You do have to pay attention to everything going on. So, is the neighbor a prostitute? And what is up with the cupcakes?? Didn't think she had a problem with their daughter.

Well I must admit after watching the second episode I am impressed with this show. The second episode had some pretty jacked up things going on. I love it. I hope it stays interesting. Nice to see an original show that isn't on a movie channel!

Glad someone else saw that. This was the first thing I thought of when the three of them were standing in front of the mom and the daughter.

For anyone who saw last nights episode...

Didn't you think it a little odd that his mistress was killed with one blow of the shovel to the face by a burn victim that can only use one arm! I then thought it was doubly odd that he could dig a ditch 6 feet deep with one arm  ....Anyway I love the show so far but thought those events was a little far fetched.

It would be odd if in fact she had been killed by one blow to the face, but I think you might have blacked out there yourself, :r

After he hits her the first time the burn dude says something like "she's still moving" and then whacks her another 10 times with the shovel.

Good episode. I'm beginning to think the burn dude is the house personified,
Like the bartender was in The Shining

I've only seen the first two episodes. I'm looking forward to seeing the 3rd.

It's weird in a good way, and I'm hoping to figure out what's really going on without being blatantly spelled out for us dumb Americans.

Yeah he beats her a couple for times with the shovel. It is a little far fetched. The one thing I want to know who is the "person" that was already in the ground because the maid seemed very upset.

My understanding was that it was the maid. When the man gets to the body he grabs a piece of the the corpses clothes and it is exactly what the maid is wearing. I don't think it was entirely clear so don't take my word on that. The show is still very confusing after 3 episodes but I'm glad that some questions are beginning to be answered as well as others being asked.

I agree it's the maid. When the husband is pouring the cement over the bones and building the gazebo, the prostitute whispers to the maid "Now you'll be here forever."

Good idea, that would make sense. I also thought it could be Dylan McDermott's alter ego/subliminal evil self.

Or both the maid *and* the '30s movie star both.

Add a dead preggo, and it just adds to the "Murder House"

Yes, that's why the wife sees her as old and the husband sees her as HOT!
