Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I am hoping I can end up with some decent goalies this year. For some reason, I either end up with backups or the starters lose their jobs:td

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
24 hour bump for being set to "draft ready".
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Put me in coach!
If it isn't too late of course. |

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Just remember goalies only make up so many stats ;)
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Let's drop the puck already! :wo

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I'm looking for a goalie.. I don't think only Craig Anderson and Jose Theodore are going to cut it for a whole season..
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Do we have a different position played spread this year? Seems like we used to have 182 games for forwards. More utility games?

I don't like my net-minders again, but I did get them in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Hope they work out for me. :hm

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Yahoo is apparently havinmg problems with the IR spots on renewed leagues. They are aware of this, and said that an e-mail from the Commish is all that is needed to fix it. I have e-mailed the league and asked them for up to 3 IR spots per team. They are supposed to respond within 24 hours.
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
IR issues are resolved.
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Apparently I have one starting goaltender and one 3rd round pick who is now a back up :td
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
If the Islanders deal Nabokov, I may have 3 starters, and will offer a goalie up Adam.

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
All i know is it's early and my team stinks so far

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Anyone else having trouble making lineup changes from their phone? I have the capability to do it, but every time I try to move a player, I get a message that says "that player does not play that position" even if I try to put them in the utility spot....
I'm in the process of moving and don't get much computer time and would love to be able to make changes from my phone. Any ideas? Here I tried to take Vinny Prospol off the bench and put him into a utility spot. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...o/4da1ebf4.jpg |

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Just wondering, how does Yahoo determine the positions a player can play? Is it how the team lists them at the start of the year, or does it change according to what happens during the year?
For example, I just heard that Zach Parise will be playing Center tonight instead of LW. Will I be able to use him as a center this year? |

Well, my offense is pretty decent but my goalies are severely disadvantaged. Turns out I do have 2 starters, but neither are very good. :bh

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Now accepting offers on Igilna & E. Staal for some decent D-men.

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I moved from last up to 8th in the last week...still no hope of getting in "the money", but at least I have made it somewhat enjoyable for myself.

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I do not like the trade that is being proposed. Daniel Sedin for Sheldon Souray/Jonas Hiller is not a fair trade. Sedin is worth more than that :2 I voted to veto

Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I admit, when I first looked at the trade, I thought "WTF"? Then I looked at Hiller's numbers for the last 30 days, and thought it was not a bad trade at all. :2
|
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I definitely do not have a worthy goaltender to offer in a trade for D. Sedin. Regardless of their past 30 day stats, Daniel Sedin is a top 5 pick in any league. You don't just go trading that type of player because he hasn't been "as good" in the past 30 days. Unless it is for another elite player. Plus even with a sub-par month he is still ranked the 5th player in the league. Being "hot" only lasts so long, eventually those players will come back down to their normal level of play. There is a much greater chance that Sedin gets going, than Hiller maintaining this pace. Souray helping him is laughable, and puts holes in your argument. In the last 30 days he has been awful. I think you could have given up more to get that type of player, considering who your other goaltenders are. I would also make the argument that Mike Smith has been hotter and helps his team more.
Plus I came here to voice my opinion just in case other players didn't see the trade. It wouldn't be the first time that someone has taken a few days off from checking it, or forgotten about the league and stopped playing midway through. |

I just want to add this; there are no rules that I'm aware of that forbid me from speaking out. And never did I campaign for others to vote to veto, just making everyone else aware. Also I never said anyone actually stopped playing in the league, but it does occur in all fantasy sports and happened last season here. So I stated that it could happen. |
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
Nice. What matters to me are your implied accusations. A "red flag", eh? Yup, you caught us conspiring. Crystal balls are great. While we are looking at careers and sour grapes, can I have Vrbata back? I waived him early in the season and you have enjoyed his career year...

I unfortunately posted that reply and really didn't want to, and that is why I edited it. The damage and the trade is now done so I'm moving on. I'm sorry that you are taking this so personally as it was not intended to be that way. |
Re: 2011-2012 Cigar Asylum Alumni Fantasy Hockey
I will take your word for it. I cannot read your mind, just what you write.
