and the construction has begun

the wifey decided that she would much rather spend the money that i made over in bangladesh on home improvements. There goes my classic mustang. :D

first it was to take down two trees in the back yard to make way for the new patio. 1200 sq ft of grillin, beer drinkin, cigar smokin beauty.

as it sat yesterday.

Hello Rob,

If you were to build a man cave in that spot that would be considered a HOME IMPROVEMENT... Which would also add tons of value to you home. :tu

My deck was the best thing I have ever done to improve my home. I only wish I had put a roof on it to start.

I look forward to the progress pics, good luck :tu

well, when this gets done i have to put all the patio furniture together that is sitting my living room. :banger

Then the next project begins after we get back from our trip to Seattle. We are having the wall between our living room and den taken down to make one big family room.

hardest part of waiting for the wall to come down is that fact that i have a brand new 55" LED tv sitting in a box/:sh

Re: and the construction has begun

dude, between the 3 trips to bangladesh, work here in the states and house stuff.

it's hard to find time to poop.

I am doing the rip our and wiring re-rough in. the wall between the two rooms is coming down to make one "great room". I have contractor coming in to do the beam, drywall, mudding and floor (patching, sanding, staining, sealing).

then we will paint.

Looking Good, Brother!:banger What Is The Projected Finish Date?

GTsetGO 09-10-2011 07:17 AM

Re: and the construction has begun

he is hoping to have everything sanded and ready for paint at the end of the day. all the trim should be rehung today as well.

then it's clean it up tomorrow, get the rest of the downstairs furniture moved out because the guys are coming monday to patch, strip, sand and refinish the floor.

they said that will take about 3 days.

so by thursday of next week, the construction will be done. then it is up to us to paint and move all the furniture back in.

Man I got sad there for second looking at the floor in those last couple pics but you're having it refinished so I'm ok now. I'm digging the patio. The best improvement I've made to my house is the covered deck. You should get lots of enjoyment out of it. :tu

Re: and the construction has begun

Shaping up nicely. My only pause concerns your patio and the very large trees that are directly adjacent to it. In my line of work I've seen roots of trees do some damage pretty fast to concrete and pavers. My only suggestion would be to think about installing a root barrier product to reduce the potential future damage. One product I've used with great success is called Bio-Barrier.

That deck is really a great addition, the rooms are looking good too!
