Best Sun Grown?
 

For those of you who might reply, "Isn't all tobacco grown in the ?", yes, I know all cigar leaves are grown on the sun.

My most recent experience is showing that I am really liking sun grown cigars.

What are some of your favorites, or what do you think is the best sun grown out there?

One of my favorites, in one of my favorite sizes is by far the RP sungrown petite corona, which is also available for half the price as the factory selects. They draw and taste the same as the boxed variety.

I enjoy a SG once in a while, RP's are good. AF's with a little age are also pretty good. :2

Where can you find a lighter powerful enough to light a cigar that has tobacco grown on the sun?:hm:D

My favorite sun grown is the Ashton VSG as well. Any size, I love them all.

vsg, esg (not the churchills), centro fino cortez just to name a few. i still keep going back to the vsg line though.

Surprised no one chimed in with this one yet but for the money and taste I would have to say one of my favorites would be the Fuente Sungrown with the Cuban Beli being my favorite vitola. Don't get me wrong I love VSGs but when I can get a Cuban Beli between $5-6, there is no comparison.:2

I'll have to agree with the Ashton VSG. Me being somewhat of a Fuente Whore, I'll also say the Cuban Belicoso, King B, and Château Fuente and Double Château in that order.

Hard to beat the Rocky Patel SG's
The Cuesta Rey is a good one too.
I need to try the AF again, the ones I tried were underwhelming..:ihSlapshot..

I like the Arganese Nicaraguan Sun Grown Robusto best. Then the Gran Habanos 3 Siglos. The Rocky Patel Sun Grown Petite Perfecto is a good third.

can't argue with any of 'em so far....RP's been mentioned, but the one that rocked me was a Factory Select Sungrown Petite Corona. :dr

I think that I am the only person left on Earth who hasn't tried a RP Sungrown!!

I really like the Fuente ones particularly the Chateau Fuente and the King B. I also love the V Lanceros.

VSGs kick my butt too much everytime I smoke one!!

The Fuente Chateau Fuente is a great SG. (I know a few mentioned it already).

The only drawbacks of the Chateau SG is that they are very spicy when young. I think they are just as spicy as an Opus when young (not near as strong nic wise though).

I love almost all of the a fore mentioned sticks especially the RPs and the AFs. Two more of my favorites are the Cabaguian Guapo and the Oliva S

I agree Sauer but no one has mentioned the Mack Daddy of all sungrowns in my opinion. The elusive 858 sungrown. I have some with some age on them that are ridiculous!

VSG and Rocky Sun Grown for sure. Don Thomas isn't my favorite but definitely a great sun grown.

and just to be that guy, the 3 siglos wrapper is actually shade grown, delicious smoke nonetheless though. Also a smoke I like a lot is the Habanos Puros Fuerte #4 Petite Corona. Quite tasty and powerful.

Hmmmmmmmmm......sunds tasty. Didn't even know they existed. I do like the AF SunGrowns for sure. Just had a couple this past week and they made me become aware that I like sn growns.

King B's, Diamond Crown Maximus in any size, 858 SG (I still have some from the original '98 offering), and Taboo are my favs.


I find RP sungowns to be sketchy...a good box out of 3 maybe. Last box I had were so terribly constructed I stopped buying them altogether. I have a few singles from previous boxes that are great.



Someone mentioned Oliva Serie V.....that's an unusual wrapper they created for that cigar, but it's one-of-a-kind good. Until you said something, I almost forgot that was a SG.

I have been enjoying the RP-X-outs Sungrown. Construction and smoking on these are not an issue IMO.

Oliva O is also a sun grown. Probably one of favorites to keep around. Very reasonably priced IMO.
